Here to say that the mod works perfectly and also just fine with a variety of the most popular mods on Nexus. I noticed people were having issues with it so I thought I'd say I use loot to sort my load order and just make sure it's checked in data files on the launcher. Other than that people might just be experiencing mod conflicts but I couldn't tell you what might be doing it.
So i have this weird Problem. I tried it and first it was a success but after a few minuits, the mod was glitching. I found a new helmet and i tried to hide it. It keeps saying "helmet showing" and i cannot hide it. After that happened, i wasn't able to use this effect anymore
I get annoying glow when I use hide helmet, even though I have mod that removes all effect glows. edit* never mind, I used another mod that hides glow, and now its fixed.
I accidentally uninstalled improperly by having my helmet still on my character in game and now my game makes every helmet disappear on my char even though the mod is uninstalled. Is there any way of fixing this?
I've come to realize that with 100 HA skill and the best armor in the game(Daedric, Perfect Madness or max level Crusader) at 125% condition, I seem to get the 85 Shield cap even without the helmet(I use a longsword, so yeah, the shield itself is there), but it still feel bothersome that I am missing a enchantment because whatever helmet I am not wearing looks ugly.

I got the new version up, there is a engine limitation that stops the AR from being updated while in the menu, but the AR from the helmet is now kept. See the readme for more info.

edit* never mind, I used another mod that hides glow, and now its fixed.
