As there has turned out to be a problem with the bedroll textures, I have uploaded a corrected bedroll separately. It's in the main files section for this mod.

I have today uploaded a new full version 2.3.1, with a corrected bedroll texture path. There are no other changes. If you are already using ver 2.3 but have problems with the bedroll, you can also download the separate optional file to correct it.

I truly love Red Rose Manor. It is the best home for my PC and companions. Everyone can comfortably move thru each of the floors. Vilja does the least about of whinning when they are here. In addition, Fergus does not bug out as much here. In all of the other (Emma mods) Fergus stands on the table or chairs. Yes, he has each of the keys for the homes.

@wonderful, I mostly agree with your statement - with the supplemental file Vilja loves the house. Also makes a good reason to stop in Skingrad on the way to Kvatch instead of walking around the city. The quest itself is also a good bit of fun just remember to pack silver or dremora/daedric weapons if you aren't playing a magic class.

Can someone tell me where the F**k is the hidden enchanted crystal ball?!?! I've been going up and down looking for ages and not finding the right place please help!

    Spoiler:
    Show

The answer is in the next spoiler, but before you look, maybe you preffer some hints, in order to not spoil totally the joy of finding it (although it seems that you are already a little frustrated). It's not so hard to search, you don't need to open any container, nor search behind furniture. there is quite hiden from your sight though. It't not so far from where you need to use it.

    Spoiler:
    Show

it's in the swimming pool in the basement cave.

If you have a modern Computer remember Oblivion is 32bit and was built for Win XP .  Its was built for 2 gigs of ram and a tiny cpu.  Think Pentium.  if you dont know  what that was it's slow.  Your cell phone is at least 4 times faster.  But there are tricks to do to make it work better.  Look for a setup guide

The problem with this mod is there are WAY too many meshes and lighting sources. I went through and disabled every candle, fire, and torch in the place and still saw lighting from invisible sources. No wonder there is a massive FPS loss when you enter. Your processor is trying to calculate where the lighting should reflect, all while trying to run scripts, and the game itself. If that isn't bad enough, there are several different types of light with each emitting different colors. Poor processor.

The outside is a different matter. WAY too many roses on the house. I lost count how many rose vines I disabled, but I know it was over 100.

This mod should have been broken into different cells. That way your processor isn't trying to render/calculate what is upstairs when you are downstairs. Plus the old rule "Less is more" needs to be practiced.

I can't endorse this mod. It's unplayable as it stands for me. It's sad because I REALLY like the Vilja mod and got the house to expand her dialogue. Nothing against you Emma, you make great mods. I just hope I can find a happy medium with disabling and tweaking. I just hope I have a house left that will still make Vilja happy.

Considering you're complaining and criticizing in great detail about how this mod affects your FPS and your attempt to fix it for your specific computer, you should also have included your system specs. If you're playing on a basic laptop it's no wonder why you're having trouble, and not a fault of this mod that deserves such a harsh post. Look through the other recent posts here; lots of praise and no complaints about FPS. This is a good indication that an average gaming computer will be fine for this mod.

Edit: Just installed and checked it out (not only for this reason, it was in my re-mod list already, just didn't get to it until now). It doesn't affect my FPS at all; the game runs beautifully. My system specs, for reference: (older) i7 at 4+Ghz, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070, installed on an SSD.

Of COURSE you don't have FPS issues. You are running a system rig that is designed for professional video editing and 3D rendering. Not everybody has those specs and is why proper mod planning for lower end systems needs to be practiced. I shouldn't have to have an I7 overclocked processor with 16gb of ram just to run a house mod for crying out loud.

My criticism comes from the mod itself and how it was designed. Not my system specs. I have a good enough set up that runs the game quite well with several mods installed. It can render large parts of the game world no problem, but has a slow down when getting close or entering the house. That tells me something is wrong with the mod and not my system, When you open the mod up in CS, you really start to see why that is and I laid that out in my previous post. Lakeside house is just as bad, but Alswell cottage is ok. Now why is that? It's because Alswell only uses one window light effect and isn't cluttered with different colored lights on top of candles. Plus the mesh count is lower. In Red Rose, there are several flowers stacked on top of each other. The more vertices a mesh has, the more your processor has to account for when casting shadows. Now add mesh on top of mesh, and you can see why a person would experience a FPS hit.

All I did was add some criticism which requires me to explain the problem. I didn't feel like I was too harsh about it. People need to learn to take criticism so that they can possibly do better. If we are not allowed to criticize and only give praise, then we will never have good products.

I'm actually grateful for this review. My computer is fairly average, so the review prepared me for the lag I would experience going to the house and in it, so I used the tlb console command to prevent it. Radparty was in no way harsh with his criticism, and what he said was spot on. There are a lot more meshes and light sources than necessary for this house. I wound up disabling all the rose bushes and vines outside, inside, and on the house.

Don;t know what you are playing on but my old AMD did fine in this game Inside outside everything.  It was a game machine in 2006 with WindowsXP that much different because back then windows xp was limited to 4 gigs of memory and the CPUs were weak too.  All of the crap you mentioned is a joke because that mod worked fine on a quarter of the cpu that you have.  You should find a guide and tune your rig up correctly.

All these years, and still one of the loveliest homes in Cyrodiil.

One thing I have noticed this time around is that the interior light sources are much too bright, and searching through the comments here indicated I'm not alone in this experience. I'm not sure if it's related to my new PC in some way, or if it's an interaction between All Natural/ENB/Oblivion Reloaded Combined. Regardless, I have gotten around the issue by both turning off the fireplaces and by console-disabling some select light sources (several candles and the wall torches , specifically). It's too bad, because they're a nice touch, but.. the light they emitted was just too much. Obviously, before disabling.. drop a save first, just in case you accidentally disable a wall or something.

Emma, if you ever end up reading this, I know you're retired from modding, but if for some reason an urge to tinker strikes, perhaps giving the candles and wall torches a toggle like the fire places could be an option? No worries, either way; I hope you're doing well and enjoying any personal projects you have on the go.

Is there a possibility of you entering the CK and reducing the intensity/radius of those light sources for your own game? I know I've done that for a couple of Skyrim mods in the past, though it's been a hell-of-a while since I had Oblivion up and running... it's just a thought

I considered that... but despite the fact that I've become quite proficient at installing a lot of mods so they're stable in Bethesda games (even Oblivion), the CK sends me running for the hills in fear. This is partly why I have so much appreciation for mod authors. Also, I have the GOG version of the game, and I'm not even sure if it came with the CK. I'm certain anybody who isn't CK-phobic could probably do it, though.

    Hello
I did the quest, I also added some thing as deco,
I play it for many years but now none of my characters can open the door, the game crashes.
What happens, do someone have an idea?

There really needs to be a combined version. 3 unmergeable esps - Main, Vilja, Cobl - is too many load order slots just for one house. Now that the tinkering is apparently done, Cobl version at the least should be merged.

Looks like this is the "must have" player house for all Oblivion players :)

Will the crafting from this mod have any conflict issues if also using the crafting system from MOO?

The manor crafting system is completely separated for any other one, so it is universally compatible :D

I’ve been using this house for my first Oblivion play through and I absolutely love it! It’s the perfect size - not too big, not too small. I love the magic mirror, crafting facilities, and how Vilja interacts with the house. :)
