@palidoo, Just installed Detailed Terrain and then your road textures. Wow, what an incredible combo. Looks great. I will try and get some screenies for u when I can. Looks great. Good job again.
DT is basically an overhaul of the ground terrain. It uses modified versions of the QTP3 terrain textures. If you're using QTP3 installing DT basically replaces the original QTP3 textures with the modified ones, so just make sure not to replace or delete the new textures after installing DT, except for when you install my road textures of course.
Also OBGEv2 and DT are perfectly compatible. All of the screenshots were taken while using OBGEv2 (SSAO, god rays, NFAA)
So if i understand , QTP3 is DT compatible ? And is OBGE v2 DT compatible too? If that's the case, i'll give it a try now. Anyway, better textures than the QTP3 ones! Good job.
Thanks for the nice words and endorsements. It's good to know the extended period of mostly pointless tweaking didn't go to waste!
Indeed more landscape textures would benefit from being Detailed Terrain compatible. I'm surprised no one has added alpha channel information to the vanilla textures so people who don't want QTP3's textures could get in on the action as well. The other really specific set of textures I did, recolored terrain for Swampier Swamps, was partially motivated by a desire to have DT compatibility. Even my first road texture attempt was born out of wanting to make the vanilla road texture DT-compatible.
HIGH praise for Detailed Terrain compatibility. I can't tell you how many packs I've passed up because their landscape textures ignored this essential feature. Instant download.
Will definitely endorse if it's to my taste... and maybe even if not, just because of the DT compatibility.
This looks really good. I have been looking for a good road retex for a while as I am not a fan of qarls road textures as well. I will install and see how it turns out. Thanks
Looking good! I never liked the QTP3 original texture. Looked very unrealistic with flat road-boulders, since there's no parallax occlusion mapping or tessellation in Oblivion.
This looks better. I'm tracking this file to download later.
