Is there a version which hides "Lock level:" also? (See screenshot in the post below)
EDIT: gothic251, the author of DarkUI'd DarN, has found a way, install DarkUI DarN or copy edited file lockpicking.xml in relevant directory, details see here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...opid=12552201&#

This is a gem. For such a small change it makes a huge difference! Now I pay attention when I pick locks, close my eyes to listen to the subtle differences, and, perhaps more importantly, I find myself actually burning through lockpicks. Not a ridiculous amount, but enough so that I actually need to buy lockpicks on occasion (or make them from random tools, with Grumblepunk's Lockpick mod). It is also really gratifying to finally get a 5-pin lock open--makes me feel like the King of Safecrackers.

    Thank you for this!

I have not tried it yet, this sounds, intriguing... I have never thought about it, but when I play oblivion as a rogue i never select security (For those who don't know, security increases the chance of getting a slow tumbler) this may change the face of the game, well for people like me. Lockpicking much of my money and this will make me think twice about trying a hard lock a 27 security

well i'm not premium, so I can't even get it yet...

I love this so much. It's not because it makes lockpicking harder, but because it makes it easier.
I keep subconsciously thinking there's a pattern and my fingers will click when there's no slow tumbler and I'll break a bajillion lockpicks. Now that I can just focus on the sound of the slow tumbler, it's like heaven on earth.

your mod do with it what you want just saying/throwing some ideas out there it would be cool to be able to do this like show a little bit of the tumble down closer to the lock pick cause when you pit a key in it fits to it in a way to like a puzzle to let the lock know it the right key to open it with be cool if you can add some new sound like lockpicking noises try to make noises more like a puzzle to try to figure out witch one is witch and when you open it it makes a unlocking sounds and some tumble down and make it were you have to do a pattern to open it or do something that shows just the front of the lock. truthful with the tumble placed so high you could open that do anyways

I have used the old version the mod maker here mentioned. It is VERY possible to pick the locks in the game without watching. I do it sometimes in Vanilla by closing my eyes because it helps me focus a bit, and for fun.

When you hit the tumblers you will hear two successive clicks. The first is you hitting the tumbler and the second is a higher pitched ding when the tumbler is in the spot when you need to click. If you have problems differentiating pitches or have slow reflexes then this mod is definitely not for you.

However, I won't be using this mod as I am trying to remove the player skill from abilities like lockpick, and move towards a more RP oriented experience like Morrowind. Crap skill should result in crap lockpicking, no matter YOUR skill. You are not the guy there in game. Hopefully Bethesda addresses the bullshit simplicity and low difficulty of their games in TES V. I somehow how doubt this though.

I am sure it is a great mod, and those of you who have lightning reflexes and great hearing will enjoy it greatly.

I don't know how people can do this without seeing and hearing.

I push my mouse forward so many times, try to listen, tried to watch YouTube videos (saw ones where people said to hear this click or that sound and I didn't hear anything), and I break so many sometimes I just want to use auto attempt.

When picking a lock for real, touch comes into play as well. It is hard enough moving my mouse around to get the thing moving correctly.
I don't know if it is a Vista thing or what but my pointer doesn't always appear on this screen. Most of the time it vanishes when more towards the edges of the lock area, and flickers getting close.

I love the idea behind this mod, but like others before me have said, the graphical addition is off-center on my screen as well. I've tried a couple of different resolutions (including regular ones instead of my usual wide-screen), but they don't seem to help. I wondered if anyone ever found a way to fix this aside from trying to edit the graphic itself?

I was about to say, it's off-center for me... I'm 1280 by 1024 resolution. Close enough, or...? I'll try reinstalling it, anyways, see if that helps.

I'm not going to rate this, because it would be unfair, but as far as I know, the sounds are in wrong timing, so this makes it near impossible?
