About this mod

In vanilla Oblivion, up to 60 Oblivion Gates can open during the game. But the game allows up to 100 at a time. This mod allows you to choose how big the Oblivion Crisis is - from laughable (no random Gates) to chaos (infinite Gates, and they will not stay closed).

General Mod Description
This is a tiny mod that has only one purpose: letting YOU control the size and scope of the Oblivion Crisis.

This mod makes it so all 100 Oblivion Gates can open during the course of the Main Quest, if you want them to; or, if you are so inclined, you can turn random Gates off entirely. There is even an option to make it impossible to keep the Gates closed if you want a real challenge! Or, set the Crisis to any level in between those extremes.

To Install, Upgrade, or Uninstall
If you are upgrading from an earlier version of this mod, please first deactivate the old version and save your game without it running. Then it is safe to install the new version.

See the included Readme for additional instructions on how to install or uninstall.


Known Conflicts
No conflicts are known at this time. However, because this mod makes small changes to the Main Quest, it could possibly interfere with other mods that alter the Main Quest. It is highly recommended that you install the Unofficial Oblivion Patch before this mod.

  • Added the ability to scale the Oblivion Crisis all the way from a difficulty of 0 (no random gates at all) to 9 (ever Gate opens and they cannot stay closed!)

  • Fixed an issue that had the maximum number of gates changing at the beginning of the Great Gate quest, not the conclusion.
  • Added a script that sets the maximum number of gates correctly, no matter when you install the mod. Now you don’t have to worry about installing this mod before you start the main quest.
