---The Fang of Anequina---
A mod for TES4: Oblivion

---What you need to play this mod---
1. Oblivion patched to the latest version
2. A character accustomed to wearing more than a bikini (aka be ready for a fight)

---What this mod can promise---
1. A beautiful scimitar mesh which fits well with almost any decorum
2. Brand-new, enhanced textures in x2048 resolution
3. An exciting way of obtaining your new sword

---Overview---
I started this mod with a question - if the Mane of Elsweyr, revered as a demigod by his kingdom, asked for a new sword, what would it look like? In light of Iliana's amazing "Deserts of Anequina" mod, as well as Waalx's "RealSwords - Khajiit" package, my decision was already made as to the style of the blade - distinctly Persian/Arabian, made to beat down the enemies of the desert sands, yet swift and elegant with a deadly beauty. To find the perfect representation of these characteristics I had to look no farther than the "Exotic Longsword" mod by VengenceMkII, which is as beautiful a scimitar as I have ever seen, virtual or physical (personally, I think it looks better than the real sword it's based off of). The Exotic Longsword also used a texture which accented the design and character of the sword very well, I just wanted to see if I could enhance this to the position of royalty. The x2048 resolution of the textures has allowed me to incorporate an enormous amount of detail into the sword, I invite you to look as close as you can at the grain of the wood grip, the engravings on the hilt and pommel, as well as the Damascus steel blade. As this was a sword fit for a god-king I spared no expense in bringing a royal yet subtle beauty to every aspect of the blade.

Unfortunately for the Mane, however, the cargo ship carrying his sword is a bit late in arrival. It was last spotted by Leyawiin guards near the western coast of Topal Bay, struggling against a storm in waters infested with deep sea slaughterfish. The captain of the Southern Wind is a sturdy, trustworthy sailor, and would guard the blade with his life, but it is said that the crew hired for the delivery may have had darker intentions...

---Installation---
1. Extract the Meshes and Textures folders, as well as the KohdiScimitar.esp, to your OblivionData directory.
2. Check the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).

---Uninstallation---
1. Delete the folders labeled "KohdiScimitar" in the Meshes, Textures, and TexturesMenusIcons directories.
2. Delete the .esp from your OblivionData folder

---Compatibility---
This should play nicely with anything that does not modify the few exterior cells used by this mod.

---Troubleshooting---
Q: I can't find any clues as to the sword's whereabouts, should it be this frustrating to find?
A: No, its location is very obvious if you read the last part of the mod description. If you can't find the location at all, load this mod after any that could possibly change the cells on the west side of Topal Bay.

Q: I am unable to get to the sword, the door is locked/I'm drowning/I'm being killed!
A: I warned you to go in prepared, which includes Water Breathing if you need it, as well as any equipment you have that is capable of killing something. A sword this quality cannot be taken by just anyone, it requires experience, prowess, and perhaps a bit of luck. I recommend quicksaving before going in.

Q: OMG im like dyin an stuffz, cant teh sord justt be in da testinghall?
A: One of the features of this mod is a small backstory, and in following that story, the sword is placed somewhere that, well, let's say you wouldn't want to vacation there. If you want to find the Mane's lost scimitar, it will not be as easy as prattling out "coc testinghall" into the console. Sorry!

Q: The sword is way too powerful and light, why isn't it more around 15 damage and 40 pounds?
A: I have always thought that the weapon damage points and weights in vanilla Oblivion were out of proportion, so I make any personal swords more compliant with what a real sword would feel like and cut like. Unless we're talking about a warhammer or battleaxe I have never heard of a weapon in the 40 pound range, most regular blades are 2-5 pounds. As to the damage, think about it. This sword was forged from razor-sharp Damascus steel by the most respected swordsmith in Anequina, I should hope that swinging it properly at an enemy would do serious if not fatal damage.
