Mehrunes Razor - New Weapon for Oblivion: Letalis
Story:
As with many Daedric Artifacts, they tend to get passed on from one owner to the next. according to legend, Mehrunes Dagon created a dagger of extordinary power capable of killing a creature in a single strike. Mehrunes Razor is an artifact according to Tamriellic Lore, that was used in a viscious power struggle within the Dark Brotherhood which brought an end to many lives. while its whereabouts are largely a mystery, it is said that the Razor may still be within the possession of the Dark Brotherhood.

Basically while looking through the CS i noticed that there was in fact a model for Mehrunes Razor that for whatever reason was never used in the actual game. probably due to the fact that youre probably not going to do anything for Mehrunes Dagon for a prize like the other daedra who have shrines scattered throughout Cyrodiil. Luckily for us, this dagger was used according to the book Tamriellic Lore (obtainable at just about every bookstore in Cyrodiil) in a struggle within the Dark Brotherhood. Since you can join the ranks of the Dark Brotherhood, i figured adding it into the game would make sense since the DB are in operation in Cyrodiil. Someones got to have it, right?
I had to do quite a bit however (stat and enchantment modifications) to get this dagger to a useable state because in its regular form, it sucked. (no enchants, 7 max damage, etc.) hardly is that a weapon worthy of the name Mehrunes Razor. stats put it up there with the ability to stealth kill most targets in one hit, harder targets in two. this thing eats power for breakfast though, (you only get 20 hits with it) so i would recomend having some way to create soul gems (or Umbra and an azuras star) if you intend on feeding it (its almost as bad as charging the blade of woe)
As its location is a mystery, i will leave it up to you to figure out where it is, who has it and at what point you can get it. (Ive told you essentially where you need to look. now its a matter of looking around for it.) i left the thing in a relatively easy place to spot and anyone in the DB probably already knows who has it. *grins* so load it up and start the hunt!
Im thinking of doing a script for it that will place an adverse effect on the player while this blade is in use (some may find that a weapon capable of killing most guards in one hit a little unbalancing) so if you believe that a rebalance is in order, or if you want to say how cool it is (whatever) just email me at [email protected].
Thanks go out to Bethesda for creating a game that while alot of people complain about this and that in it, is an awesome game nonetheless.
