The description has always listed Cobl as a requirement, though an enterprising mod user could probably get it to work with the Tabaxi Race Mod 2.0 by Luchaire. I did notice that the link to the mod on Wrye's site is no longer valid and changed it to point to the file listing on tesnexus.
Not sure what the Ainmhi race has to do with this CM Partner, they may look similar but they're not actually related in any way. Ainmhi have no fur aside from on their ears and tail.
the ohmes rhat if I remember right is from Cobl, which you might need to say is needed for this. I do not know if the ainmhi race will work with it or not. Just thought I would point it out for you.
