The ID of the collect corpse spell is: xx000ee1 xx is the place in the load order of the corpse collector .esp (09000ee1 for 9th place) Just in case the spell removes itself if you haven't taken alteration as a main skill you can simply use player.addspell xx000ee1 But editing the .esp in the Construction Set to make it not a starting spell, and perhaps change it into a lesser power so you wont get experience for it is probably advised.
unfortunately didn't work in my case.as my npcs were uninhabitable with weapons or spells. Turns out they were persistent copies of originals created by deadly reflex. The severed heads were respawning after three days and would be a naked, unhittable npc that would just stand there. DIsabling them would just get rid of them but they would come back upon cell reset. Just found a command that seems to work, deletefullactorycopy since there is no markfordelete in oblivion. Deletefullactorcopy seems to do exactly what I need it to do in order to do away with these respawned severed heads.

Yeah i figured that that fatal dissapear of spell comes when you start with new character. To be more exact the spell disappear after you choose your class/specialisation.
I tested that one with help of "AK alternative start" mod
I noticed this mod would crash if there is a corpse in a cell (especially nameless npcs) that can respawn in the game. Ex. bandits, arena combatants, soldiers, etc. Did anyone find a solution to this?
I use this to create "trophy rooms" of NPCs like bandits, necromancers etc. and don't have that problem (generally with named NPCs I just use the console to set them as a quest object). Could be a mod mix that isn't agreeing with this mod.
Sorry for this late post , but maybe your problem is ( or was ) just because you already collect a marked " Quest objet NPC " ... like the Captain Renault ( ? not sure of the English name because i use a French version ) and especially if you have resurected this one .
So it's a good idea to not collect an quest objet maked NPC an to know this fact , use this very usefull mod before collect a dead body : RefScope .

... unfortunately there is no such a great tool for Skyrim ( as i know ) .
I already got your issue by the past but that was not because there was a lot of dead bodies somewhere , but because i saved my game with some collected corpses (creatures or NPCs ) in my inventory bag . It's better to put them out your inventory bag before saving a game .
Now there is probably another reason to get this issue , example ; i collect a vampire corpse , resurect it - with the console command " Resurrect" ( not with a Spell ) and kill him - or her) once again a few times just to get some resources from their bodies ( and by the way , to also increase some skills) ... in this case , sometime i get a "CTD" when i came back in this area and when some a these collected bodies were resurrected ( wuth the console command or with a spell) ... so in this case they are alive and your problem occur with a dead body(bodies) .
But i think this isn't a "lethal" fact , sometime i get a crash , and when i reload my saved game , sometime no more crash ... so some crashes are just there by "accident" .
Anyway , i didn't known how to set ( or bettern, unset ) a body as a Quest Item , so thanks to Striker879 for the tips.
Cheers.
PS : i use this mod not only to carry a lot of stuffs in these collected corpses ( without penalties) but to resurrect them in a specific area ( where they will remain ) , charm them to make them "companion" and to use them as "mannekin " to store my different clothings/armors .
downloaded and just tested it out. works like a charmthough it may be helpful togive the corpse its proper name as in "Valen Dreth" instead of "Corpse 1" i f thats possible
Using the console command "setquestobject <baseID> 1" to make the NPC a quest item and thus their body won't disappear on cell reset (no quote marks or <> brackets ... e.g to make Umbra a quest object so her body will always remain in Vindasel it's setquestobject 26b1b 1). To make a quest object so that it's no longer a quest object it's "setquestobject <baseID> 0" ... so to make Umbra's sword dropable it's "setquestobject 26b22 0" (no quote marks).
Hey is there any way someone can edit the spell so it doesn't give alteration xp? Most of the time i plan the levels so i get 5+5+5 every level but this ruins it, i'm guessing it's not too hard to edit but i don't know which program is used. Also instead of 0 weight is it possible to first add a realistic body weight+inventory weight. If someone could make this 2 things i would be so extremely happy, or even better tell me which program(s) are needed and of course whether if it's possible or not.
I modified my version so that the spells are lesser powers for the same reason you're asking (I haven't changed the corpse weight though, or even looked at what may be involved for that). Changing it to a lesser power wasn't difficult using the Construction Set. Unfortunately I can't share that with you due to the author's permissions (click on PERMS just above the TAGS tab).
If you install the CS and have any trouble figuring out what to change I can walk you through what I've done.
Oh yes i made it lesser power recently it was pretty easy, i can ignore the weightless corpses but just like others the collect spell disappeared, gonna try disabling and enabling the esp file like other guy said, hope it works, i have a strange obsession of corpses :d what i'm going to do is put red lamps everywhere and use the body harvest mod to create a very evil bloody house, it actually creates this blood beneath the corpse so that's going to be my main decoration maybe i can create some corpse art :d
My favourite spot is the secret room at Benirus Manor (though the lighting does need a spot of help ... yes I'm a collector too).
My latest guy is still pretty poor (Enhanced Economy + Basic Primary Needs keeps him struggling for those "finer things" in life) so he's been shacking up with Umbra when near the Imperial City. Sometimes I'll succeed in getting a bandit or conjurer to follow me down to Umbra's room. I have a collection of her "trophies" I'm storing there until her and I move into better digs than Vindasel (I've freed her of the accursed sword, still trying to decide if I trade it for a hat or keep it for her trophy room later).
Also artifacts mod has this large torch, ayleid torch and a few candles and some nice clothes along with a ton of other "too good" armors and all kinds of unique items that are easily purchasable which i don't want. Only keeping it for the few light items, gonna tinker with it in cs. Also which other programs are used in making mods, i'll try to create a few evil food items :d
The GIMP (or Photoshop) with the dds import-export plugin.
With these tools you can make very complex mods, using the vanilla assets and custom textures.
In order to be able to create your custom meshes, you will need a 3D Modeler, Blender is the standard for Oblivion because it is the one that best integrates with it. You need the NifTools plugin for Blender. THIS BLENDER PORTABLE PACkGE by Rooms contains all you need to create nif meshes for Oblivion. Do not mind the outdated version of Blender it contains, this version is the one that works the greatest for Oblivion.
There are some other tools useful for modding Oblivion, the most notable being Wrye Bash, and TES4Edit, The Conformulator, et al, but they are advanced tools for very precise tasks.
Ah thanks a lot, i have lots of ideas to create the most evil house ever, of course it will take a while to make something that's worth downloading but it's not rocket science so anyone can learn :d heh i might even make droppable coffins so i can store my evil red lights and skulls in it cheers again!

Hey it's probably wrong place to post this but where should i start first, i looked around the forum for a while but i need something that will explain this bluntly, as a beginner i just want to let my sick mind go wild and create droppable coffins, that's my first aim. in blender i created something that roughly looks like a chocolate bar which is what i was aiming for, since i suck so bad it was just painted full brown and i couldn't even figure out the texture thing. So let's say i'm content with what i created and want to save it and add to the game, it creates a blend file so is there any topic that explains this steps in forums? or can you explain those steps bluntly? i just want to add a single item as a beginning and keep learning

Hey, Sirprize!
The four basic modding tools you should have are:
The Construction Set.
The Construction Set Extender (requires OBSE).
NifSkope.
The GIMP (or Photoshop) with the dds import-export plugin.
With these tools you can make very complex mods, using the vanilla assets and custom textures.
