---Anduril - Flame of the West---
A mod for TES4: Oblivion

---What you need to play this mod---
1. Oblivion patched to the latest version

---What this mod can promise---
1. Accurate textures of the sword Anduril, including the engravings
2. Elegant and functional meshes

---Overview---
After wandering listless across the endless fields of TESNexus looking unceasingly for a decent Anduril mod, I stumbled across an answer on my own hard drive. Adonnay's Classic Sword Replacer, long forgotten in my dusty archives, contained the most perfect mesh of Anduril I've seen to date, and I was instantly engaged in texturing it to fit my standards. Not settling for a movie screenshot as a texture, I went out and found the best of the best, then hand-inscribed (or as close as it gets on the computer) both the Anduril text on the blade and the Narsil text on the hilt. They read, respectively in elvish and english,

Anar - Nányë Andúril i né Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i móli Mordórëo. Isil
Sun - I am Andúril who once was Narsil, sword of Elendil. The slaves of Mordor shall flee from me. Moon

Narsil essenya, macil meletya; Telchar carnéron Návarotesse.
Narsil is my name, a mighty sword; Telchar made me in Nogrod.

(Taken from http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/elvish/weapons.html)

The Anduril text on the blade was written by the elvish smiths of Rivendell at the blade's reforging, and it was set amidst seven stars between images of the sun and moon. I believe I have accurately represented this in the texture, which was modelled after the actual movie prop by Weta in New Zealand. Following their lead I gave the sword a nice polish, bringing out the depths of the graven characters while not fully concealing the scars of past battles.

Because such a sword never existed in the realms of Oblivion, I had to take some liberty with its setting, and placed it in Fyrelight cave on the road to Skingrad. You will have seen the whole cave by the time you find the sword, so don't go in underprepared.

---Installation---
1. Extract the .rar file to your Oblivion\Data folder
2. Check the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).

---Uninstallation---
1. Uncheck the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).
2. Delete the .esp(s) and .bsa from your Oblivion\Data folder

---Compatibility---
This should play nicely with anything that does not modify the interior of Fyrelight Cave, and in the odd instance that a mod of yours does, load this one after it.

---Troubleshooting---
Q: I can't find the sword/I'm hopeless at exploring!
A: You must explore all of Fyrelight Cave in order to get the sword, but it is not ridiculously hidden. In fact, its location is really obvious when you see it.

Q: Help, the swords are nowhere inside the cave!
A: Try loading this mod after any others that edit Fyrelight Cave, that's all you can do.

Q: I don't like how the sword is just haphazardly thrown in a random cave, there's not enough ceremony about it! This is Anduril we're talking about!
A: I realize that this sword deserves a lot more setting-wise than I gave it. After all its smith, Telchar of Nogrod, made both the knife Angrist that cut a silmaril from Morgoth's crown, as well as the Dragon Helm of Dor-Lomin, heirloom of Túrin son of Húrin. However, it should not exist on Tamriel in the first place, so I thought a couple of cave beasties had as much claim on it as anyone else. Sorry.

Q: I totly think teh mod iz dumb, whye not put teh sword somwere easy too find?!1
A: If you can't do a little challenging dungeon-dive then you need to download your DMRA-body Chocolate Elf character a set of weights and a personal trainer, because that's just sad.
