Since the link to the manual can be a little hard to spot on the description page, I thought it might help to post it here.
Over time Vilja has grown so complex and her dialog has evolved so far that even her creators can't keep track of all the features and how to access them. There are many surprises tucked away in her dialog topics and we encourage you to try them all, but even we sometimes need a guide to find our way through the dialog maze.
As there obviously is an increasing need for it, I have decided to upload an authorized NMM-friendly merged version with both the esp and the bsa of ver 4.04, as well as all the documentation.
If downloading with NMM doesn't work, this probably means that you have a 32bit system, and NMM + large file sizes + 32bit simply doesn't work that well together.
it doesnt work, the almagerd OCO version of Vilja does nothing to change her appearance or hair, i have the correct load order and all the requirements, any fix?
Hello Emma first and foremost let me say thanks for a wonderful mod! this installed and played well along with other mods, however her quest lines never started for me so i went into wrye bash and uninstalled her so could start a new with her, however once I uninstalled her oblivion would no longer load ? any Ideas on to what is happening? all her dialog works just her quest for her sister never starts. Once again thanks for this great mod and the time you have put into it for us gamers pleasure to make oblivion more fun to play.
The tools aren't there. I poked at it in xEdit, and while the quest does start if you run Haphestia's script on it, the game just crashes when opening your quest log or entering the boat. We'll have to wait for an official Construction Set assuming we ever get one.
I agree with everyone else. Playing Oblivion remastered without Vilja is like eating nuggets without sauce. Cool nuggets, but not peak as they were. I would even pay to get the ported mod.
Hi Emma! Just echoing what others have already said, but I would love to see Vilja ported over to Oblivion Remastered! Your Vilja mod is by far my favorite Oblivion companion, and an absolute essential in my mod list. Her charming voice, story and companionship add so much to the moment to moment experience of exploring Cyrodiil. It's like going on a grand adventure with your best friend! And as amazing as the OB remastered is, the experience is not complete to me, without Vilja in it. All the very best to you, and hope to see your Vilja mod in the remaster someday.
Interesting.....(from one who played Vilja in Oblivion a thousand years ago.) I hope a small miracle occurs and we can see her back and remastered for the remaster.
That first crash is probably because the remastered game can't display her custom eyes and maybe the hair. She's also got a custom animation file attached and uses an entirely custom race. My guess is that all of those things will need to be either changed to use standard game resources or updated with whatever extra resources and translations are needed on the UE side of the game. Reverting some things to to game defaults could be an interesting test. But I don't even know if you can add a new character without updating things on the UE side of the game. She's got custom items in her inventory, multiple swimming outfits, gift armor for the player, and all sorts of little things that would need to be updated. Getting Vilja to work with the remastered game should be possible, but will require help from someone familiar with Unreal Engine modding and whatever magic is being done to link the two game engines together. The other big question is whether Emma would want Vilja running on the remastered version of the game, because the current permissions don't allow it.
CDCooley, could you contact Emma to see if you could make this happen? This maiden from Solstheim deserves to have her life extended on Oblivion Remastered!!!

Dialog and Gameplay Manual for Vilja version 4.0
But don't hesitate to post questions if you can't easily find an answer to your question.
You will find the NMM-friendly merged version on the download page of this mod, http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/download/1000008346

Thank you so much, Almagerd
