    All of you people claiming this is good and realistic clearly didn't even take a second to consider how blocking would work in real life. Imagine that you're holding a shield and a strong guy with a warhammer hits you. Not only are you going to "take damage", but you're gonna get knocked down. Even with a lighter hammer, you will still hurt your articulations, especially your shoulder.

    With this mod, the game has absolutely no challenge from start to finish. You can hide behind any shield for an infinite amount of time until your magicka and fatigue are full, and you just have to wait for an enemy to hit your shield, recoil, hit him and go back into invincible mode until the next time he attacks. Add some magic resistance and you are God. At maximum armor and 100 block skill, vanilla Oblivion decreases damage received by 96.25%. I think that's more than enough.

      But:
      1) in real life 1 hit damage much greater.
      2) it doesn't matter what armor do you wear when you block attack with shield or parry (heavier armor just increase your resistance to knockdown).
      3) what about shortswords, daggers, arrows? Even when you block hammer attack, if your strong enough and use a heavy shield, in most cases you should loose fatigue, not health (like in "dark souls" mechanics).
      This mod works great only with " Deadly reflex " which has "timed block" and 250% weapon damage increasement feature. And also i think skill multiplier is too high in this mod. 1,1 is enough i think.

      Ok, simply dont download the mod if you dont like it. I think this is good and realistic, and I was looking exactly for a mod that dont let me take any damage if I'm blocking

      I did, have you? I think not. I followed quite a lot of martial arts courses, and i even followed japan and occidental swordsmanship. I made more than one fight, with real weapons (not keen, but still real) and i tried blocking lot of blows, in various shapes. And if a blow is thrown from a *very* skillfull fighter, it will crash you even if you have a shield, that's true, but that depends also how good YOU are on blocking. Especially considered that when you block, if you want to block CORRECTLY that is, you don't simply impact the blow, YOU DEFLECT IT. When you do that correctly you most certainly do not take any damage. Even with your bare hands. Of course, it depends a lot if you manage to delfect it correctly or not.
      And, if there's stamina (or fatigue) NO MORON, YOU DON'T STAY FOREVER BEHIND YOUR SHIELD.

      I'm with the "if a mod's not for you just don't get it vibe" 
      using this with mobs and increased damage makes combat methodical and stops one getting killed through one's block. which feels good to play, it feels real aka right. 
    5. I know I am from the future but still I have to say it is totally possible for a person to fully block a warhammer (or any kind of weapon with a shield or any other weapon). I have been doing HEMA and historical reenactment for years. Doesn't really matter though, could have told you even without the experience.

    I consider this tweak essential to the game. However, suddenly it's not working. The only mods I've added since it worked are unique landscapes and some LOD mod - both graphical. Any ideas?

    This is a great mod with OOO or Better Battles, because mods that increase damage across the board tend to ignore the fact that vanilla blocking is quite bad.

    I would really like to see a timed block addition, as in the longer you have block up, the less damage is blocked. A similar addition is in many of other blocking mods, but they screw with too much to make it viable with the many mods that increase the speed of combat by increasing damage from all sources.

    I really hope you make that addition, but keep it simple. Please? =-D

    This is great, but the journeyman perk makes this really unbalanced.

    I'd like to remove that perk. Any idea how?

    this mod's great because realistically, blocking would just make you a little tired and the only way u would take damage from blocking is if they split ur shield in half. 9/10 =o

    Will this appy to handtohand? For some reason I can't block any dmg handtohand even if i change the settings

    this is a wonderfull mod, maybe a touch over powered but a wonderfull mod, and yes enemys are tweaked out aswell..

    asfor the staggering, that souly stat based, if you have a high agi (str too?) you wont stagger, if ANYONE takes a big enough blow they stagger...

    this is perfect for "ANY" mage class!

    I love this mod, to me it certainly adds realism.

    Is there a way to modify the block recoil length in the Oblivion.ini file? I put the blood to a few minutes staying but I can't get to stop the recoil. Whoever knows the answer to this is a brainiac lol.
