Intro and Reasoning

Hello there everyone. I'm Crazyfoolgaf and this is my first official Oblivion Mod.

Ode to Oblivion is a replacement for the Vannilla startup menu. Like many of you, I have
spent hours upon hours wandering the plains, forests and mountains of Cyrodil. In my time
as an Oblivion player I have encountered enthralling quests ranging from quirky to terrorifying,
landscapes breathtaking in their majesty or hideousness, and dungeons of increasingly epic
scale, treacherousness and reward.

We have faced off against demons and prevailed, wandered the realms of Oblivion and returned
to tell the tale, and hoarded or sold mountains of that most beloved prize: LOOT!!!

And to think, all that was only the start. Once the good modding folk, such as many of the
people who submit to this site, got a hold of the tools and refined their skills, the limits
of the game (Only then being discovered in small ammounts by avid players) were smashed and
torn asunder. Now, not only is your adventure your own, so is your game. Every detail, object
and setting tweaked to your exact liking. Dragons sail the skys, some with you upon their backs,
the somewhat dull old combat is forever changed, the aging graphics are boosted tenfold.

Its astounding to me, what Oblivion has become. It started off with a visionary company making
a ground breaking game, but it has evolved to become something so much more, thanks to its
players and the modders who contributed to its post development progression.

Oh dear, it appears I have been ranting, but its important for me to convey my reasons for making
this mod. I made this mod to communicate the above message is visual format. I believe a game
as epic as Oblivion is deserving of an epic title. This is my interpretation of such a title.

The Mod
-------

The mod consists of a series of images that play in sync with a theme I feel is far more
appropriate than the old. It is important for me to note that I DID NOT take any of the
pictures used or make the theme, I simply put them all together. I have credited and linked
every creator of the original in the Credits section below. So far this mod has seen 7 incarnations
, this one being the release version. I am not at all closed to revisions or improvements,
and plan to release some minor updates in the future.

In other words, constructive critical comments are welcomed and appreciated.

Known Errors
------------
On some systems, only when the Bethsoft and 2k logos are skipped, the first few pictures will appear compressed and
will not be in sync with the music. Please allow the Betsoft and 2K logos to play before
skipping to the main screen.

Below is a list of people who took the pictures seen in this mod. To those individuals, though
I know that I did not ask your exact permission, I would greatly appreciate being allowed to feature
your work in my mod, as this is designed as a tribute to Oblivion, Oblivion players and Oblivion
modders everywhere. Ie. you!

Furthermore, I did not catalog all the custom content seen in these pictures. If you happen to know who created some of the content seen
below, tell me so I can link and credit them. That way, we can all avail of some nice new content.
