Nice idea to add to Oblivion a shop to own which generates a little income ! Indeed the profitability is very low... But I found an easy way to tweak this to make it more balanced ! I've installed the mod with Wrye Bash (don't know if it is important but I haven't tested another installation method), then opened Tes4Edit and access to the 'Buyabletavern.esp' ; here go to the sub-category 'Leveled Item' and to 'OBTavernMoney'. On the right panel where the informations stands, you have a category 'Leveled List Entries (sorted)' with seven sub-category 'LVLO - Leveled List Entry' ; each of these sub-category have a Count, going from 3 to 21 by iteration of 3. You just have to change this seven Counts values into seven amount of gold you would like to receive and voilà, you can become filthy rich :) It could be a little immersion-breaking for how the hell this little tavern would gain 1000 gold in three days ^^ ? (Maybe skooma buisness is going on...)
nice..nice.but 4000 thousand gold to purchase and only a wee bit of gold every three days not to be mean but thats not very realistic..but on the other hand its ur first mod so i half to say nice but u have alot of potential xD
So tavern costs only 4000 golds? That's dirt cheap! And if income is really _only_ 3-21 golds per 3 days, it will take from 2 to 11 in-game years before it has paid itself back. Not very profitable business...
Hi, I noticed this was classified as "Default - I forgot to set this". I think it would be better in one of the other classifications like "Abodes - Player homes".
Love this idea! I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but from what I've read it looks like you could expand it to be a really great mod. Someone earlier suggested upgrades which was my first thought when I read the description as well. For example, when you first buy the tavern you might only have one or two clients. Then you could buy upgrades like better furniture, new employees, expansions to the building, etc. or do quests like convincing the Black Horse Courier to print a story about the tavern or beating up thugs who start bar brawls which scare away customers. As you do these things, maybe you'd get more customers in your tavern and, therefore, more money in the chest.
Just a few preliminary suggestions, I won't be offended if you disregard them. I may add a few more once I've had the chance to try the mod. Anyway, hope you keep modding, I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Now that is actually an awesome idea and a potential for a great mod. For example, there could be 9 upgrades available. 1~3 would still be a Tavern. From level 4 to 6 it would become more of a restaurant. And from 7 to 9, a hotel and finally the Grand Tamriel Hotel. All that with hire-able staff outside of upgrading options. That would be really hot, though require quite a lot of work. Anyway, kudos for the mod and I hope to see many improvements to it, not necessarily like the ones mentioned above, since it's your mod after all.
The containers are safe there are customers but there just there for looks and don't really have any special dialog also theirs just the bartender and you can't get anymore staff than that. and there is a bed roll on the top floor but thats it for beds. also i have no idea how to take screen shots so if any body could help that would be great
