For me this mod removes the little circle above someone's name that indicates whether they are essential or non essential characters

to uninstall this mod navigate to: data/menus/main and data/textures/menus/shared and delete the hud file(s) and the all active icons file(s)

if you have to re-install over something this small, it's your own fault...

Give the guy a brake, this is a great mod!

now my archer doesn't have to play 1st person, thanks!

edit: if your having trouble installing when it says to rename to "hud_reticle.xml" don't add ".xml" (because it's already an xml...)

also it this is not your cup of tea, you might want to try this:

Another way to prevent having to re-install is by installing this mod with TES Mod Manager.

Extract the .zip of the mod, delete the crosshairs you aren't going to use, rename the crosshair you are going to use to hud_reticle.xml, delete the .jpg's and the readme.

In TESMM, click 'Create', 'Add Folder', find the extracted .zip, and choose the folder. Make sure under the data files that the file paths are menus/... and textures/... Also, make sure OMODv2 is unchecked

Create OMOD and then activate it. Overwrite anything it asks you too. (It'll only overwrite another mod, it will not delete or overwrite the vanilla crosshair.)

Make sure you're using BSA redirection. Deactivating the mod will revert the game back to vanilla crosshair settings.

crosshair stucks in a weird place when used with walkblessed. you gonna have to switch to first person when trying to loot or talk to someone.

Yes I can confirm it dose work like it says. You just rename and open that hud_reticle.xml in notepad then use save as. Keep the name the same with the .xml.

I will also note the crosshair will be on top of your characters head while standing.

I have the steam version goty with all dlcs. I uploading this video to youtube to show and prove the arrow accuracy is very well if not perfect.

Works perfectly with Mod Organizer 2 with a small amount of work.

Extract the Menus and Textures folders to your desktop. In the Menus folder, go to the Main sub-directory. Here you'll find all the customized .xml files. Pick the one you want (read the readme file for info) and rename it to hud_reticle.xml. Delete the other .xml files. Package up the folders (Menus and Textures) into a zip, 7z or rar file (not sure it matters) and install manually with MO2.

I did it exactly like this, and it worked perfectly the first time. I reckon (although I did not test it) that you could leave all the .xml files in there and just deactivate the ones you don't want in MO2, but not sure how you'd get around the file name not being right .. something to play with if you're so inclined!

Thank you very much!!! The one thing i need to say about instruction: you need to open hud_reticle.xml with your default notepad and just save it (or try to add any symbol in empty field and delete this sumbol), then save this document (xml). This works to me. Endorsed. Finally archery will not be annoying with intrusive large reticle!

Edit: I just installed this mod again, when i started a new game and it worked instantly

THIS IS AWESOME!!! THANK YOU! Followed the readme instructions and saved the xml files with current date -- worked perfectly with Steam version on the first shot. I can finally play in 3rd person and know if I'm about to steal something! Was using DarNified UI's 3rd person crosshair, which was ok, but didn't show if something was owned while in 3rd person. Still using DarNified with this mod -- no issues. I get motion sickness in 1st person, so thank you for giving me access to an old favorite without needing to be nauseous!!

I love the idea of this mod but I cant get it working, help would be great.
Ive tried leaving off the .xml bit and Ive tried saving the xml file and the dds file so as to change the date to the current date but to no avail, it still wont work.

I'm also running this on Steam, and just to add an updated comment. This mod does in fact work! Read the READ ME file! The only thing that was not mentioned was how the date on the file needed to be the current date. All I had to do was re-save the hud_reticle.xml file, so the date was current. I started up Oblivion, and there was the crosshair in third person mode!

Step-by-Step: Copy the hud_reticle.xml file to your desktop. Open it up, and save it. Place it back into the folder it was originally in, and voilà, it works!
