Permissions and credits
---The Blades of An'kewan---
A mod for TES4: Oblivion

---What you need to play this mod---
1. Oblivion patched to the latest version
2. A brain

---What this mod can promise---
1. High-quality textures, many 1024x or larger
2. Extremely detailed meshes
3. Immersive puzzle-solving
4. A great sense of victory when finished

---Overview---
The Blades of An'kewan is many things. To some it could be seen as a new chapter in TES lore containing a journal (~76 pages) detailing the nation of Ka Po'tun of Akavir and their influence in Tamriel. To others it could be seen as a puzzle mod, designed to test your skills at solving riddles and the like by using a general knowledge of Tamriellic geography, culture, and history. And to others still it could be seen as a weapons mod, made to display a set of top-notch meshes and textures in the form of two versatile swords. Whatever this mod is to you, know this: YOU WILL NEED TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE TO FIND THE REWARD. I do not approve of comments discussing the puzzle elements of the mod, so keep it to yourself. You are alone in solving the puzzle, as I will not give hints and neither should anyone else. However, the puzzle does have a solution (even if it seems like there's nothing there, the cells edited are minimal and there should be little or no conflicts), and if you do manage to figure it out you will be justly rewarded. It will take time to complete the storyline, but instead of rushing through it just to get to the rewards, take your time to analyze the puzzle. Read the journal, review the clues, but most of all, enjoy the experience.

---Installation---
1. Extract the .rar file to your Oblivion\Data folder
2. Check the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).
3. When you load Oblivion, you will be sent a note from Phintias at the First Edition bookstore in the Imperial City. After you read it the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

---Uninstallation---
1. Uncheck the .esp in OBMM or the Data Files menu in the startup screen (or in whatever other mod loader you use).
2. Delete the .esp and .bsa from your Oblivion\Data folder

---Troubleshooting---
Q: What note are you talking about? When I load the mod nothing happens.
A: You will only get the note if you have a fully-made character or if you are not engaged in battle. So go kill whatever is chasing you.

Q: Help, I can't find the manuscript the note is talking about!
A: Try loading this mod after any others that edit the First Edition bookstore in the Imperial City.

Q: I solved the puzzle but I can't find the location it talks about! Is it ridiculously hidden/hard to find?
A: Don't worry, when you find it you will know. This mod only edits one exterior cell far out of the way of most other mods, and there are none I know of (and that's a lot) that conflict. So keep looking.

Q: OMG, like u ttly made teh modz 2 hard, were izz teh swordz?!!?!11?!
A: Check the mod requirements again, you'll see that a brain is one of them. Use it. If you can't take the time to play the mod as it was designed, the swords are not for you.

2.2 - 11/7/11 - Fixed one last bug with Phintias

---Credits---
Many people contributed many resources to this mod, here they are:
1. Sangre for his wonderful sword meshes, and also his help in perfecting their style for this mod
2. Thomas "tda" Bramall for his sword blade texture, an integral part of this mod
3. Waalx for his extremely useful Realswords textures
4. Phoenix Amon for his great book jacket textures and meshes
5. The NifTools team for the best (and only) .nif editor
6. Bethesda for one of the greatest games I have ever played

Most if not all resources listed above were edited from their original form, so if you wand the originals go download their mods.
