I took my first step into texture editing (installed the Gimp DDS plugin) and added some alpha channel action to the main road texture. I need to tweak it some more and then move on to the other textures before I'm at all satisfied, though. If there's anyone out there dying to have these textures compatible with Detailed Terrain (all two of you), let me know and I'll finish them as quickly as possible.
I'm also contemplating doing my own hi-res replacement textures for the roads at least since these are basically the vanilla textures and the roads could probably look a lot better with hi-res textures (with alpha channels for Detailed Terrain compatibility of course). But that's pretty low on my list of priorities for the time being.
Nice work I really like these textures more so than the QTP3 counterparts. I have a mixed bag when it comes to textures and somehow I had missed these until recently. Using BAIN to mix and match textures is great and this adds to my collection. I especially like the Rocks, much much better than QTP3. I use them all actually.
Probably a stupid question, but does the "00 QTP3 Redimized Textures" folder contain modified versions of the textures supplied with "Qarls Texture Pack 3 Redimized" or are they same?
I'll have to see how detailed terrain detects which rocks to show. If it's done in the textures then I can make it work, but if it's done entirely in the shaders then they would have to make it compatable with the vanilla road.
Ah, nice to see such a great replacement for those QTP roads. I also hope for a compatibility patch with Detailed Terrain. It will make the roads look perfect!
