These are pretty nice! But since the .esp isn't working for people, perhaps we can let people know how to manually install these textures? Like, we can open up TES Construction Set and add eye colours for the Khajiit that way?
Here's how I would do this...
(You may want to put these Khajiit eye textures into Textures>Characters>Eyes in your Oblivion Data folder so you can access them easier? You can create a new folder named something like "New Khajiit" to make it easier to locate them.)
To Start: -Open up TES Construction Set and click on File>Data... - Double-click on Oblivion.esm
When you have Oblivion.esm loaded up in TES CS:
- Go to Character > Eyes... - Right click on empty space under the rest of the items on the list, select new and name your file something like eyeKhajiitGreen (or whatever other name you want as long as you use the 'eye' prefix) and add the appropriate .dds files. (MUST CLICK THE 'PLAYABLE' CHECKBOX ON THE RIGHT on ALL OF YOUR ADDED FILES, OTHERWISE THEY WON'T SHOW UP IN CHARACTER CREATION!) - When done with adding the eye textures you want, leave the Eyes window open and go to Character > Races... - Click on the Khajiit race in the item box on the left - Go to the BodyData tab with Khajiit selected in the Races window and you'll see a box for eye textures. Drag your files from the Eyes window and individually drag them into the aforementioned box in the Races window. - Click OK on both boxes and save your .esp (name it whatever you want as long as you don't use spaces) and you should be good!
I understand that these instructions may seem counter-productive as it requires another program and the creation of a new .esp file, but if it works for me, it will probably work for you. :)
For anyone else who comes across this in the future, the problems folks below were having with not being able to select eye colors other than the default because the arrows are greyed out can be solved by allowing all eyes to be used by all races. This can be done easily through Wrye Bash, after you have Khajiit Eyes installed right click on the bashed patch and select rebuild patch. In that menu there is an option under tweak races that allows all races to use all eyes. There's probably a mod that does exactly this but you might as well save an esp and do it this way.
Excuse me, but can I make a small personal modification that I will not release, but need for an upcoming YouTube series? All I'd be doing is enabling these eyes for other races, so my character in Oblivion will match my character in Skyrim.
EDIT: Actually, as this is just a texture change, my own Oblivion mod already lets me use it on Imperials without having to alter your mod. Nevermind.
I've had a problem with this mod; I've placed the textures form 'Add' in my data folder, and turned the .esp file on. However, in character creation, I found out I couldn't change my eye colour...(I couldn't use the arrows you use to cycle through eyes). So I de-installed the mod, and tried using the 'Default' way. This time, the default eyes were now cat-like (because you replace them), but I still couldn't change colours. (again, the arrows didn't work) Could someone please help me with this, because I'd really like to have this mod working">
Also, What's the difference between versions 1 and 1.2? (v1.2 was uploaded about 1 hour after v1 "> )
I was messing around with this for a friend, as she was getting CTD's when trying this mod, and I fixed it.
Create an omod out of it. But don't use both folders when creating the omod. Choose if you want to replace, or add eyes. This method works for me with the steam version of oblivion. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, go look up Oblivion Mod Manager, and check out some instructions on how to create Omods.
Yes, i'm having the exact same problem as the others.. I checked in the CS with the "add" esp active, and the eyes ARE set as active, as well as added to the Khajiit race. If anyone has a clue how to fix this, it would be very helpful. I will go and look up a few guides, then link a good one that works, if I can find a solution.
