if you're worried about the file size like i was, i made a set of alternative textures that's about 2% the size of the original (256x256 instead of 1024x1024). it still looks fine imo, as you can see in my screenshots https://www.mediafire.com/folder/llt0s2649gxkt/AoD
I had a problem with the install directions of this mod. The esp file isnt showing up in the data files section so I cant activate the mod. However I found a work around by converting the archive into an omod with oblivion mod manager. It works fine that way.
That said, its a very good looking armor on my Dunmer
1) Create a temporary folder and call it Ambassador_of_Darkness (or another name you like). 2) Download the file EY_AoD_ver11-23666.rar to that folder. 3) Extract the file EY_AoD_ver11-23666.rar using 7-zip (far superior to WinRAR or WinZIP) leaving folder options at default. 4) In Windows Explorer open your temporary folder. You will find the following folder structure: Ambassador_of_Darkness\EY_AoD\Data\Meshes and Ambassador_of_Darkness\EY_AoD\Data\Textures. Right mouse click the Data folder in Ambassador_of_Darkness\EY_AoD\Data and select copy from the right click menu. 5) Open another instance of Windows Explorer and navigate to your game install folder (in my case G:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion ... yours will be where ever you installed your game). Right click on the Oblivion folder and select paste from the right click menu. You will get a warning about there already being a folder named Data. Click on Yes to All. 6) Using the default game launcher (not the OBSE launcher) activate EY_AoD.esp in Data Files. Click exit but don't use the default launcher to start the game if you use OBSE. 7) Start the game in your normal manner and go to Cheydinhal. Go to the castle courtyard and look in the spot specified by the screenshot.
Um, rather than just telling those of us who don't find a chest that we have done it wrong, perhaps you could explain how to do it right? I note that there are no installation nor requirements docs listed on the writeup.
I have tried putting it at top of install order in WB, and near bottom in load order to load near last, yet, I also, have not seen the chest though I am certain of the location.
Whatever... I'll just keep fiddling... got lots of problems to work out... (oi veh!)... (yes, using Wrybash + Boss), not complete newb, just a 90% newb! ;-)
