   This sounds like a sub-race from a book series I am reading. Basically the people have no gift whatsoever, and as a consequence, they are not able to see magic - basically magic doesn't harm them.
   
   Maybe as a balance to the no spell thing, you could make them have resistances to magic as well?
   
   It just seemed like a way to balance your race.
