works for me. And i'm absolutely endorsing, since i too hate when i can't kill an npc just becouse he's bound to some quest that maybe i will never do and i coulnd't care less.
I know why this mod is working for some people but not for others. The reason why is because of the very simple fact that this mod only edits NPCs' essentialness (if that's a real word) AT THE START OF THE GAME. There's some quest or something in the vanilla game that causes specific NPC's to become essential AFTER THE START OF THE GAME. Thus this will NOT work for those specific NPC's. In fact, I'm even working on a mod that gets around that through a ring given when the mod is loaded that when equipped, gives the player a pair of scripted spells that can set vanilla NPC's essential or not. As there's no script for respawning, however, this mod should work for that part.
