Ultimately I can't recommend this, having an elder scroll, the mysterium xarxes and the mythic dawn commentaries in a house you can get at the beginning of the game is too immersion breaking.
This mod had great potential, too bad the author decided to use unwanted mods like Bookplacing and make us use it otherwise it would break the mod. I've also found the cause of the "missing mesh" (purple mesh), the mod requires the folder from the mod Bookjackets, named "bjob" that must be placed in "Oblivion\Data\Textures\pa\bjob" Placing the book jacket mod texture folder there fixes the problem. I have also tried to make a non-bookplacing dependant version to make it more compatible with other mods. I will contact the author to ask if he's okay with placing it here so those interested can download it.
The book textures are awry. I downloaded the full package 1-1a which appears to have all the necessary meshes and textures, but after installation the books are a uniform texture-not-found purple colour. I checked in the toolset and it even seems that the book items are linked with the correct textures, but for some reason they aren't used in-game.
@nomad441 - I disagree, when creating a house, would you want to live in a place that has an uneven foundation? Or a place that has a low supply of electrical outlets? No. You want it to be as close as a dream home as possible with the least amount of cost, resources, and disadvantages. I think he did a tremendously good job. I use this house all the time.
@ JbMcfee - Sorry about the index texture...I am currently without my desktop, but had been working on an update for this mod. I can try to fix this for you when I get my compy back (but this could be some time unfortunately...and my laptop is not really up to the challenge). If you want to change things sooner, you can always use the construction set to change it manually. All the rooms and objects are prefixed with "YICH", so they are easy to find.
@ jon9912p - Not sure, but it could have something to do with the most recent patch for oblivion. I think I may have had the same problem, but when I resaved the mod in the newer construction set (downloaded, rather than the one that came with the game), I haven't had problems.
But also on an update...I've been working on a few things which hopefully will be up in a month or two when I'm reunited with my desktop. I've polished up the mini-quest so that it puts entries into the journal...fixed the respawning practice arrows chest so that it resets to 500 of each type every time you reenter the room...put switches on the "creature cages" so that you can manually reset them and rekill them at will.
Also been working on a secret underground room with a merchant and cave that exits outside the city...with a lovely underground garden!!! Will try and create a quest for these too, so that it's not *too* super cheaty.
Anyhow, thankyou for the feedback...I'll totally take this into account when I'm polishing up my updated mod.
This mod seems really nice and all, but I followed the readme instructions and when I load oblivion with it loaded oblivion just closes. Anyone know if there's a way to fix this?
Great mod that adds a great house. However, it uses the BJOB texture for the Mysterium Xarxes as the index texture, thus giving the Mysterium Xarxes the shitty default texture... Not even downloading an alternate Xarxes texture (http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=697 solves this. Anyone have a way to bypass this? The Xarxes looks so bad next to all the high resolution BJOB Books...

Download Book Jackets and install the B - variant of this mod, for me it fixed the missing meshes.
But for me, I think it's too much.
