Yay! lots of respawns, more kills and loot for me! Blood and souls for Arioch!! But is would be more appropriate, I think, if the mage's tower laboratory did not reset, spawning 4 dremora and a pile of loot there.
After two years waiting finally I could play Molag Baal. (The problem was with me and my old computer.)Mind you my happines lasted untill I met the starved mother fish. Thank you.
One word of warning, though. I think I may have messed up my game by cloning myself while wearing the Molag Bal armor. Serves me right for getting greedy. I cloned myself three times....heheh.
I actually laughed when I saw all those companions hanging around, drinking, sitting, talking, practicing. It was like a giant Job Fair for out of work adventurers. Sure, it created lag, but suddenly I was able to find all those people who I could not locate, including the Titans and Sirens who were supposed to appear in a piece of water that had been replaced by a castle.
Billy1969 if files are installed in right order there should not be CM Partners gathering in front of Tower any longer. But if you have used save game made with bug still in place you need to go back / restore to some clean save previous to this or results can be quite unpredictable. New games will not be affected.
Alternatively once fix has been applied you can try to weather out - wait day or two (game time) to see if everything returns to normal as it should. Worth try I guess.
I don't use Midas Magic so I was unaware of entrance to Tower problem. I'll try for next version to find some work around by moving my or Midas door to somewhere else. In meantime it seams that if you want both fishy "> entrance is valid if a bit unpleasant solution.
Ok, fixed the problem and this is how I did it, I hope to be able to help people experiencing the same companions bug described in my previous posts:
First, before activating the Molag Baal esp, take a clean save. Make your active companions guard outside of the Arcane University, wherever you want to. Put your player character in front of the Arcane University district door, then Save and Log out.
Next, in Wyre Bash or any other oblivion launcher deactivate all Companion mods save the ones that include your currently active companions. Rebuild your wyre bash patch if you use one.
Remember, as I described before, I had over 60 recruitable companion mods activated, and though 90% of those companions I never used before ingame, still they all ended up in the Arcane University district leading to massive lag and eventualy CTD's.
Start the game again, get back inside the Arcane University and run around to see if you didn't forget any companions inside. The archmage daughter companion should be the only one inside, she is waiting near the well in front of the Molag Baal Mage Tower entrance, if you see any other companions still running around you forgot to deactivate one or more mods in your launch order.
Save again inside the University and log out.
Restart your oblivion launcher software (Wyre Bash or any other you use) and reactivate all companion mods you deactivated.
Restart the game with your last save, if all went right you have now a clean university cell again. Save again and resume play.
Remark: Your active companions that you didn't disable will still end up in the Arcane University if you fire them or have them stay and resume to their AI package, you can fix this by removing all their gear, save, deactivate their mods and repeat the steps described before, of course you will have to recruit them again and refit them with their gear, I didn't do this step because I'm lazy ">
When you start a new game with a new character the bug shouldn't happen again. Also this bug is relevant only to companions who depend on CM Partners.esm and CM Partners.esp (I use the last 1.9 version), other companions like Red Sonia and Ruined Tail for example are not affected by this.
I hope this is helpful to other players experiencing this bug as Dall's Molag Baal is a fine mod and I recommend it, still it would be nice if Dall of the CM Partners creator could squash this bug in a next version and above all tell us what was causing it, I'm very curious to know the cause!
Wow, Houston, we have a big problem... my whole Oblivion is messed up.
All the CM Partners, and I have more than 60 of them installed are no longer on the spots they're supposed to be (Taverns, Inns, Chapels, ect) but are all piled up in the Arcane University.
This started when I installed Molag Baal and they're still there now that I unactivated it!!!!! Oh man, this is bad my character is lvl 44 don't tell me I have to start over to fix this problem or I'm going to kill someone.
I have no savegame backups from before the problem (I save 20 times a day to make sure my savegames don't get corrupt so the old ones are deleted to dave disk space)... HTH Do I reset the Companions to their original locations without losing the companions I have now, I put them in uber gear that costed me half my soul to get for them.... Please help.........
Update : Midas Magic Spells of Aurum and Dall's Molag Baal share indeed at least one same cell (the locked mage tower from Dall and the Club in Midas have the same cell), so these aren't compatible. With Midas disabled (I didn't like it anyway) it works.
I'm also suffering from the bazillion CM partners running around in the University bug, basicaly they bring the 4Gb memory of my PC to its knees and CTD me out, going to reread the comments to see how I can get rid of them.
It seems this mod has incompatibilities when Midas Magic spells mod and Manimmarco Complete Mods are also activated, I think they share same cells in the Arcane University district, the whole thing crashes everytime with a CTD when I try to go to the Mage Tower from the Manimarco mod, also the door to the Battlemage chambers of the same mod isn't there with DMB activated, no matter the load order, will try to be more specific but I'm still trying to figure out what mod is the culprit of the three, or maybe they're all, sigh.
SPB joke mods and NPR H-cup mods have NOTHING to do with all my hot digital companions! I deny the implication! Oh, and I've never even thought of downloading that racy set of Colourwheel mods! ...FOR SHAME... ">

All is well after collecting them up and hauling them back to AranMathi, where I store my harem--err, my many useful battle partners. Yeah that's it, battle partners.
