I fully understood what you were doing and I was raising a fair question. I have now resolved that issue myself and will share it with everyone.
Slofs previous horse mod included a DLCHorseArmor.esp that made her mod work with the DLC but this was withdrawn in version 2.0. In any case it didnt work very well with the UOMP.
Dev_akm has produced a revised version of the compatibility file which improves compatibility with the UOMP, however this is dated August 2007 and probably doesnt work with Slofs Horses Base 2.0.
Ulrims Horses makes Slofs Horses Base 2.0 compatible with the DLC does a lot else besides). It gives compatibility with OOO but doesnt require it and has a neat installation script that looks at your mod list and automatically uses the right compatibility files. One thing it doesnt do, and I dont believe anyone has managed to do is to make the horse mods fully compatible with Quarls Harvest, which is a shame. Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this.
Here is the situation with the files someone couldnt find:
Slofs Horses Essential is an esp included in the original Slofs horses download pack which set all player owned horses to invincible. This feature is included in the main esp in 2.0 so you dont need the esp any more. The original download pack is no longer available so you wont see that file any more either.
You wont see Slofs extra horses 1.5 because it is an earlier version of Slofs extra horses. (The mod named Slofs Extra Horses contained version 1.5 while the mod named Slofs Extra Horses 1 contains version 2.0) This mod is primarily a modders resource but can be used as it is.
It should work just fine with Slof's Horse Base 2.0. I just wanted to make sure I listed all the mods I had to use for it. If it doesn't work, just open up TESCS and fix the models on the horses that you have that work. Mostly I just listed all the Mods I had on there so it would be compatiable.
I am quite keen to try this mod because I know all too well that Slof's Horses 2.0 does not work with the DLC Horse Armor plugin. Alienslof herself said she had no intention of making it work because she didn't like Beth's armor. However, I can't find the mods you list as required. I found Slof's Horses Base 2.0 and Slof's Extra Horses, but I can't find any of the others. I checked TES Nexus and Slof's own site. Could you please clarify the mods that are required for your mod? I would actually prefer not to load Slof's Horses Essential if that's possible.
It didn't work for me, and I tried to get it to work and I couldn't. So I made this to help other people like me who couldn't. If it helps people, then there is a reason for it. People have issues with some mods not working like I did, so hence this was made to correct my issue. So I added it here for other to use as well. Do you understand that?
I don't understand the need for this as it was always possible to use Slof's horses with DLC horse armour by using the file DLCHorseArmor_SlofBase.esp. It is some time ago since I looked at this and it is possible that it no longer works but I don't see why that should be.
No, this doesn't add the textures and meshes. So, you can not get the horse armor for free. This just replaces the plugin data file to help people who can not get other mods to work correctly for them. I have made sure I did not add anything that could be called a "freebie". Yes, there are plenty of horse armor textures for both armor, but this mod just add the horse base to whatever horse armor texture you have downloaded. This is a really simple mod that just required me to add all the base mod meshes and textures to the original plugin so this one will just replace them for your convenience.
