Great mod! Is there actual illumination and dynamic lighting from the windows or is it just a bright texture? I want to make sure I installed correctly, windows don't seem to illuminate the environment.
There are glow map textures to give the impression of light, but no actual illumination as that cannot be done (at least in Oblivion) using only NIFs and DDS files.
The objective for AWLS was to provide a simple mesh replacement to add lit windows everywhere in-game while remaining compatible with other mods, without manually placing "Light" objects which would end up in the wrong place when used alongside another mod which moves or disables the building.
Hello, i've been using this mod for years but i am currently using Katkat's textures. However her Bravil and Bruma retexture don't display any window at night, so i've tried to use the tool to make it works but it didn't, i see the transition between day and night but the window becomes like more dark but idk why because i added colors. I'd really like to make it work, do you know if it's possible ?
Are you perhaps missing either normal map textures or glow map textures? I believe it's the glow map texture which makes the lit window texture actually seem to be emitting light.
You need window textures to switch between lit and unlit, if you don't have a "lit window" texture to replace the original window texture then that is why it doesn't look right.
Then pick some existing suitable window textures from AWLS and use those. IllumAnimation Tool will edit the NIF to add the functionality for switching between lit and unlit window textures, then using nifSkope you can set the texture path for each to point to your chosen window textures.
A request: A version of the advanced plugin that does not have lights turn on when its raining (but to keep the other functions of the advanced plugin)
Reason: Since the windows are lit via a texture change (unlike something like Illumination within), the 'effect' during the daytime even if its raining, feels more like "orange windows" then "lit windows".
(also since one is making requests, smoke that is not so bright)
I've uploaded some test Advanced Weatherblind ESPs, drop the one you want (smoking or non-smoking) into your Data folder, overwriting the ESP you were using before, and see if it works as you desire.
I'll add an option in the next full release to select darker smoke (the original game textures) or the lightened versions currently provided. I'm assuming when you say brightness you mean lightness, as in how clean the smoke looks, since the smoke is not lit.
Hey really love the mod keep up the great work. I do have one request though, do you think it would be possible to add an advanced option with a fixed time preset like the basic option, while retaining the other features? The mod works most consistently for me when OBSE isn't trying to detect whether or not it is night or day time and I also really like the other features. Thank you!
Yes it would be possible, but whether I can make it happen is another question. I've uploaded some test ESPs, drop the one you want (smoking or non-smoking) into your Data folder, overwriting the ESP you were using before, and see if it works as you desire.
Is it possible to add 3 more windows in interior at the Merchants Inn? They don't have interior windows there.
Also there is a mod that adds windows to Imperial City, at the second level of buildings. I think they should be merged with this mod since it complements it.

Rock-solid mod that does what it says on the tin! The cozy atmosphere of an inn lit up at night is a must-have, you'll never play without it. That fabled IWR script integration mentioned in the ReadMe would be incredible.
Hello, I have a problem with the windows. They are black at night, except for one of the churches. I installed the mod correctly (manually) and also installed OBSE and SkyBSA. I don't use ENB or OR/ORC.I've also tried the different ESPs and always get the same black result at night.I've looked through the mod files and I think I can say that the windows "actually" change correctly at night BUT the light is missing :(
PS sorry for my bad English. I used Google Translate.
There is no actual light added, you may be talking about the glow effect being emitted from the textures. This comes from the glow map textures, which are included in the same folders as the corresponding textures (all the files with _g at the end of the filename). As long as the meshes and textures are installed correctly, this glow effect will be visible with or without an ESP, and doesn't require OBSE.
Try reinstalling using Wrye Bash, you may have missed some required files by doing a manual installation.
Thanks for the quick reply. It worked with Wrye Bash. I apparently overlooked that the "actual" textures were missing. I only had the NormalMap and GlowMap textures installed... Oops :) PS Thanks for the fantastic mod
Thanks for having a really good readme that explains the different settings. I finally figured out how to get the windows to not flicker, was right there the entire time. Great mod.
