I don't expect an answer necroing a 3 year old thread, but anyways...

I have just installed this mod and would please like to understand a few specific points:

    1) specilization Skills - I still do not understand what this means exactly, and how it differs from Major SKills...?

    2) As far as I understood, *even* if you choose to set a specific Attribute limit to, say 80, other choices you made - like adding+10 as a Race bonus and another +20 as Birthsign bonus - allow this Attribute to go beyond your established max. In this example, a max of 110.
Would other Attribute enchancements (like Oghma Infinium that adds another +10 to some attribtures) even further this max possible value?

    3) Paths of Destiny: It says choosing "Peasant King" sets options back to KCAS defaults. Does this means that choices like e.g. in Introductory Chapter Luck to be +1 every level up and in Advanced Chapter maximum level 30, that the path Peasant King will null these choices ,as it resets Luck as Average of all 7 and max level to 50?

    Many thanks!

Specialty skills exist in the vanilla game. Each class has a specialty magic, stealth, and combat. They level up faster than a regular skill but not as fast as a major skill. When a skill is both major and a specialty it is the strongest

Ok, if anyone else is having problems with Vampirism make sure you don't have any other mods that conflict. I had the Unofficial Patch's face fix coming after this and clobbering the vampire script.

If this is the case, then Wrye Bash users should also remember when (re)building the Bashed Patch to un-check the UOP Vampire Aging and Face Fix.esp option under Tweak Settings.

Just in case anyone was wondering... Unfortunately, it looks like the website that hosted the documentation for KCAS is dead. :/ Thankfully, there are at least some captures of the manual saved on the WayBack Machine. Looks like the latest usable capture if from 2009. Looking at the version history that is on the capture, it appears that the saved page is for this last/latest version of KCAS.

"I disabled the mod and my character is STILL stuck at level 1. I grinded 2 of my major skills, advancing them several times each and the progress bar never budged towards me achieving level 2." This problem is at several pages described. I Have the same problems.

    I used this mod always.
    I like the many options:
The many different level pads to use.
The ability to change birth and race
The jack of all trades paths
The possibility to slow skills advancement

The extra more emcumerance ans skip intro esps.
    The NO OBSE

-- So please make an Update / Patches
or tell us what kind of mods ruins this wonderfull level mod.

    Thanks!

I have to say, here it is 2013 I'm still using the mod (whenever I actually get to playing Oblivion) and it still works just fine. I always go for leveling from attributes, not skills, which does cause it to work out where I have fairly high skill levels but slow (SLOW) leveling... but I don't mind that... at all. Combining this with OOO still works nicely and I'm doing just fine. I went back to playing Oblivion while my husband plays Skyrim... and it caused him to start hunting down mods for Skyrim, seeing how nicely Oblivion works out with a few solid mods.

    I have an issue:
My char was leveling just too fast (Peasant king), and I didnt have a clue of how to slow the process a bit, so I turned his leveling way to the Void for a long time. But then, many skillups later, i put the Peasant King once again, and he turned out to need -52.29 skill (or ability, dont remember) points to level up.
I dont know how to fix it, neither do I know how to slow the leveling pace, after that.

i'm having an issue, I started a game and whenever one of my attributes and my level increases it doesn't show. I'm at level 2 right now and it still says i'm level 1 and none of my attributes have changed? Is it supposed to be like this, have I done something wrong or could it be a conflict with another mod or where I put it in my load order?

I found a similar mod called Realistic Leveling which claims inspiration from this mod. Only just started using it so I'm not sure on its long term stability. That one has leveling based on skills, i think. Its compatible with Dark DarnUI. Also, in the Darn UI description there is a mention of how to install it so it works with this mod (KCAS)

Well, I used to enjoy this mod, but I found out that it is completely bonkered when loaded with DarkUI_Darn. The DarkDarn stats_menu.xml file looks for an include file that is in the wrong place. Changing the location to the correct place only causes mayhem with the stats menu.

That's too bad. I always liked increasing my maximums to 255 and I thought that the way it auto-incremented my attributes was the best thing to make the game so much more enjoyable.

Alas, poor KOBUS. I loved it well...
