Thank you for this. I too was disappointed at not being able to pick up the items that may have been better than my own at the time. In referrance to Kaisal1's comment, the peeps at Bethesda obviously don't have time to watch the Simpsons.
Nice! But I think you should mention that it only lets you pick up dropped loot, like shields and swords - you still can't loot what's on their bodies.
I wonder if you could add a script so that when you click on the fallen opponents, a command goes "removeallitems player 0" so the all the loot on their bodies is added to the player.

I gave this file a 10, isn't that the point of fighting in the old days to kill and salvage the armor of the defeated enemy? I thought that's how it was according to Homer....
