Awesome mode, but I had to learn .esp editing to bring back all the crates in the Market District. You know, cause it's a big market district with shops, trading and stuff. I think that all those giant gazebos are some kind of a warehouse area where they store goods. Kinda stupid to see market area totally empty with no goods around. Check "Emperor: Rise of the middle kingdom"'s warehouses on fresh air, I have that picture in mind.
Got everything to work, except the plug-in. There were no god rays over Akatosh, and it put grass and vines in the market district. A shame, since I really wanted the de-cluttered market.
I've been using this mod for a long time and reinstall it every time I mod. Although I've use the standard Qarl's for the streets, sidewalks, and the statues. Except for the gold Akatosh. I love the gold Akatosh! (The sidewalks are textures iccobblestones01, icsidewalk01, and icsidewalk02.) This mod does indeed make the IC even more regal and definitively Ayleid in origin with distinctive Imperial flourishes!
One detail however was missed. As you see in the screen shots, this mod makes all of the rooftops a beautiful Imperial red. However, once you are out of the capital city, the roof of the Arcane University tower remains green.
Fortunately, this is an easy fix. If you have OBMM or even better, the FOMM BSA Browser set as your default program to open BSA files, go into your data folder and double click "Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa"
Copy and paster the following to your FOMM search bar:
ictowerlod01
Highlight and extract that one file to your desktop.
(If you use OBMM for your BSA management, the file path is Textures\Architecture\ImperialCity\ictowerlod01)
You can download the free Paint.NET to edit the ictowerlod01 file to make the roof red instead of green. Once the file is open, select all, copy. Then create a new layer. Now create a second new layer. You should now have 3 layers.
Paste the copied layer into the top-most layer. Now select the middle layer. Click the red color in the color palette. Select the paint bucket tool in the tools paletter. Paint bucket the middle layer so that's it's a solid red.
Hide the top-most layer for this next step by unclicking the layer check box. Double-click the solid red middle layer and adjust the transparency until you have a balance between roof detail and the color red. You can use the icroof01.dds for a color reference. Once you got the right red and level of roof detail by adjusting the transparency, merge the red layer with the background layer.
Now un-hide the top-most layer by re-clicking the checkbox. Increase magnification to the maximum 3200%. Select the eraser tool in the tool palette. Slowly and deliberately erase the pixels in the top-most layer to reveal the red rooftop underneath.
You don't need any art skills. You don't need a graphic tablet.
Once completed, merge both remaining layers and save as DXT1. Now place the edited texture in Textures\Architecture\ImperialCity. There is no file in that directory to be overwritten, so you won't see a popup dialogue box asking if you are sure you want to do that.
You're done.
Estimated time: 20 minutes.
Now you can enjoy a glorious red tower even when you are outside of the Imperial City! (But why would you ever want to leave the Imperial City after installing this mod?)
Great mod.. if you're tired of the boring old grey rusty armor used by the imperial legion and you don't already have a replacer, I'd suggest 'Ethereal: Armor Imperial Legion Edition FINAL' here: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/4734/ It appears to match very well with the retextured city.
Everything is fine except the red doors, they are the same as the vanilla one, I'm using let the people drink+better cities full, I'm not sure if this is the problem...
Ok Got it to work finally. I used the archive invalidation in the Oblivion Mod Manager to rest the bsa so that the game would use the new textures. Looks Great and having seen the mod I would give it a ten now thanks.
