I know you've addressed this, but this mod is seriously too dark. This is a great mod and the fortress is cool, but it would be a lot better if half of it weren't pitch black. Maybe you like the feel of the dark areas, but it gets very tedious placing torches over and over again (even with the droppable lit torches and decorator assistant, the torches still go out over time). Basically means you have to carry a torch around while youre in there, and that just shouldn't be necessary in my opinion.

      Thanks for your feedback.
I'd personally never noticed that torches went out over time, so that's a fair point.

If I find the time , I might end up reinstalling the game/construction kit and making it a bit brigher - Maybe similar to/a tad darker than the screenshots - what do you think?
That's not exactly on my priority list though, so it might take me some time to get to.
Are many other people still interested in this?

I love the accurate description...except it leaves out the most important detail. Where the damn thing is. No where on my map.

If I remember correctly (this was a long time ago so I'm not entirely sure), I scripted it so the game would give you a quest after enabling the mod. Have you checked your quest log?

If I may, could I suggest changing the location of the second key? I was able to get the first key after a bit of effort, but I actually had to look at a walkthrough to find the second. Not only is the location inaccessible if you haven't begun a very specific quest, but it also doesn't match up with the clues given.

"The book now leads me to the Great Forest. In Pitch Darkness, the Magick Energy of the Ancients remains untainted. In the darkness of this Ancient Ruin, the restless soul of a powerful undead is to be captured."

Okay, makes sense. So it's somewhere in The Great Forest, inside of a ruin. So I look up the Great Forest on UESP.net to see how many ruins are there, and see that there are 12 of them. Okay, well we can narrow that down. First thing I do is check off the ones that are quest related, as they're usually locked. Then I look and see if any of them involve necromancy or undead. Sure enough, 3 dungeons match that criteria. So off I go, and none of them have the key. Then I expand my search to dungeons that have undead/necromancers, but are quest related. 4 more dungeons later, and still no key. It's at this point that I'm agitated enough to look up a walkthrough. So if I may, I suggest moving the key's location to Piukanda. That dungeon fits all of my initial criteria, and was the first place I checked. Not quest related, inside the Great Forest, and filled with undead. It seems perfect to me.

Sorry for the late reply. Since the release of Skyrim I've been checking this page less and less.
I understand your complaint, but I must say that the 'quest' for the keys is made to test the player's knowledge of the game, and is definitely not made accessible for low level players. The ruin that the key lies in is one of the darkest you can find, hence the 'Pitch Darkness' clue. Perhaps I could change the entry to something along the lines of "In Pitch Darkness, souls of the Forgotten shy away from the light."
Thank you for your comment. It's been so long since I played Oblivion... Maybe soon I'll pick up all my old mods and give it a shot again, for nostalgia's sake
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

      It's in the FAQ
"Q. The place is too dark! Can you change that?
      A. No, but I will tell you how to change it yourself. Download Droppable Lit Torches Sandman (on google) and Decorator Assistant (on Nexus). They'll help you light up the place to your own tastes. You can also get Reznod's Mannequins and equip them with torches along with your favorite armor!"

The original AranMathi was way too bright for a necro base, and I'm not too great with lighting myself. It's not due to laziness; though I could do it, I like the feel of the dark areas, and I also like how the torches have their own unique effect upon the surroundings. I don't consider it a burden to light it myself, but I rather like having the ability to customize it myself.

Some of the characters seem to get lost on their way back to the lair. Talon found me a few days ago and has yet to arrive. And Sara when I told her to go to the lair did nothing until I told her to follow me and lead her back by hand, then she went to her place . I think the AI could use a few tweaks.

Hmm, they should start heading to the lair as soon as the conversation is ended, assuming the conversation wasn't interrupted and it finished where it was supposed to finish. The AI is pretty much the same as any vanilla NPC who is set to travel to a particular location. I haven't set them to teleport there, but rather make their way, so I thought it was just the matter of waiting an appropriate amount of time for them to walk.
Did you try exiting the area where Sara was and waiting an hour (so the cell she was in was unloaded), and trying to find her there again? If you did and it had no effect, then I find that rather strange.

@Bowiefan, it should be compatible with those mods. Let me know if you run into any trouble, I've had to deal with my fair share of problems in my Oblivion experience

Is this mod mostly compatible with other necromancy mods like mannimarco "Revisited" or "Resurrection"? I also use The Dark Initiative and Epic Necromancy.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Linky,
    Glad you solved the problem.

I have started a 'Soul Harvester' mod, kind of a separate sub-class but it's far from finished. I'm not sure if I will finish it, especially with Skyrim coming out in a few months. But who knows, I might get bored and decide to work on it. I can't make any guarantees, however.
Otherwise, no. This is my only public mod as of yet
