I've been reported repeatedly that my own quest mod An Unexpected Company conflicts with VHB in some way (see this comment? and related replies). So I'd like to provide a patch.
As VHB seems to be a quite complex quest mod (and I've never played it myself), I'll need some kick-off directions: Anyone there who knows where and when the conflict shows itself?
I can only assume that it's something "static" about a house in Skingrad missing (just a guess)? Or is it something quest-breaking, concerning the plot?
Any hint from the experienced VHB experts might be very helpful! ;-) Thanks a lot.
According to my recent investigation, this is not a conflict, but a mere load order thing! Both mods (VHB and my quest) edit the path grid in Skingrad, and as long as my mod loads last, both mods should work fine. I've noticed the the younger FIX version by Arthmoor, Verona House Bloodline SI Fixed, is already sorted correctly by Vortex. Alternatively, simply flag my mod as later in Vortex, and you should be fine. Still I'd be happy to hear others on their experience about this!
The reason why Arthmoor deleted all his mods, was to remove them before Nexus new policy change takes affect (a lot of authors deleted their content). Nexus Policy change prohibit modders from having full control of their mod... once it's uploaded, Nexus 'owns it'.. and modders aren't allowed to delete their own mods.
Sad. Ever since they merged all the sites into nexusmods and replaced the perfectly fine and logical UI with this modern smartphone-friendly garbage that I can barely navigate I saw this coming. Any time anything gets too big or popular it gets taken over by parasites who ruin it for everyone. Just look at youtube.. The modern internet is a sad state of affairs.
Had a repeatable crash involving Berra Gaunt during the second quest. Whenever she dies, the game will consistently CTD. It happens in the Arthmoor version from AFKMods, so it may also happen with the version here.
I was able to paralyze her, pickpocket the keys from her, and proceed with the quest without issues. So at least you can work around it without having to use console commands.
Rather a curious post, I'm just keen to see if you'd entertain the idea, of remaking this mod for SKYBLIVION, as and when it eventually releases. I loved this mod for years and years in oblivion and was always the go to questline once I'd finished saving the empires royal behind :P and i think it could be made even more awesome in the newer engine and with skyblivion's new assets. No pressure obviously I'm keen to see what mod authors feelings are to making/remaking mods for skyblivion...
Parchee.. Do you have the VAMPIRE BLOOD from Athens House. I do have the blood! I even ran all over and bought everything that she asked for...still can't figure it out. Thanks for the reply

Arthmoor has his own mod site now -> AFK Mods where you can find ALL his mods such as Verona House Bloodline SI Fixed.

Otherwise, nice mod so far!
