I just wanted to thank you for making this, for sharing it, and for establishing that it matters!
The two reasons I'm hesitant to install sound based mods are:
1) The concern that sounds willl be played too often - not really applicable here, moreso with random animal noises etc.
2) The concern that they'll include sounds that stick out, thus killing the illusion of actual background ambience. This should be the #1 factor for anyone putting together background sound and yet whether it's amateur modding like this or even professional efforts, so often you'll hear some distinct noise that makes you wonder what they were thinking in including it!
In my recent Morrowind playthrough I regretted adding an ambient taverns mod after hearing a woman yell "It's really lovely!!" every 10 seconds. Sneezing though? *Sneezing*? The Instant Messenger sounds are pretty unforgivable but at least that's a mistake...good God, sneezing in a pseudo endless sound loop.
So thank you again for putting one thing right with the world.
Does this work with Open Cities Classic? I'm going to try and update if it does, but maybe someone will answer me before that at nearly 3 in the morning...
Thanks to Brumbek for "ressurecting" and fixing my mod. It was my first mod for any kind of game, so I'm glad that people find it useful. I will hopefully resume working on this mod, adding more and much better sounds. A lot of people use Open Cities type of mods, so I'm gonna look into adding ambient sounds to them as well.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, suggestions, comments, etc. My email is [email protected]

Not really my cup of tea, but a nice mod!
I could see where if you had the Crowded Cities mod, this would fit perfectly.
As it is, it's tough to imagine the 10 people who hang out in the Elven Gardens or Temple districts to be making that much chatter...
I agree, the old one was kinda cool, but it was way too loud for me and I started to hear the same distinct things over and over...
