It's a ReShade preset, it will work on any version of No Man's Sky forever, as will ReShade itself. If you're trying to use ReShade on an installation of NMS that you acquired through Xbox Gamepass, select the launcher's .exe instead of the game's .exe. It will work, but you may need to make sure that the files are in the folders they need to be first.
But in your case you might just be using some other mod that's just incompatible with the current version of NMS since ReShade nor any ReShade presets are ever going to crash your game, theoretically.
Just wanted to comment that as of today I was able to get ReShade, with this preset, working with NMS 3.84, but it took some work, as nothing I did initially would get ReShade to launch with the game. What solved it was doing a registry edit which is explained in the final post of a thread on the ReShade troubleshooting forum titled 'Reshade and Vulkan'. I also had to manually copy my ReShade64.dll and .json to the No Man's Sky binaries folder because the installer just slaps those into the appdata/roaming directory to attempt to make them global. Hope this helps anyone else whose systems are being stubborn about launching ReShade.
I love Filmic ReShade. It looks good even if you play with the HUD on and everything is nicely balanced. I also appreciate the step-by-step instructions on how to install it, though was a bit confused about the opengl32.ini bit in the notes. Realised it was from the old version of the game, no worries! Works fine with Origins.
Wait there is a ReShade preset that currently works? I was told by many people that ever since NMS switched to Vulken, ReShade no longer works. I'm very confused.
edit: Yeah this actually works and looks amazing! Nice job man! It does have a big fps hit but with a 2070 Super, I go from 120 average fps to 90 average fps. I honestly don't notice a difference at all beyond 60 tho so I'm good with that haha.
For some reason, Reshade doesn't work if you play through Steam. It is written that an error has occurred due to which the game cannot be started.
No idea how to fix that.
Upd: Disabling overlay did not fix the issue. Launching without mods did not fix the issue.
Upd1: Steam was not causing the problem. I have 2 computers with the installed game and I was able to fix the problem for one of them. How I fixed it: 1. C:\ProgramData ---> deleted Reshade folder 2. Regedit: HKEY_Local_M ---> Software ---> Deleted Khronos 3. Reinstalled ReShade Works like a charm on the PC and failed on the laptop.
Still have no clue what causing the problem, the solution is not convincing since it doesn't work for both cases :(
Upd2: Minimizing the game to the desktop makes the same error appear and shuts the application down.
https://imgur.com/a/HjGLEn9 - how the error looks like (launch without mod folder. Otherwise it says that there is mods incompatibility)
Issue fixed: Everything turned out to be much simpler. The integrated video card on the laptop caused this issue. Fix: just disable the integrated video card in the device manager.
I was looking for a mod that changes ship HUD, so it could look like you're showing on all your mod pages, yet I didn't find it. Can you tell me, please, what mod are you using? Or was it an old interface that is not used anymore?

Thank you.
I really like this reshade. It gives more immersion to the game.
