I would prefer not to, this mod was only ever meant to be cosmetic and not alter any game functions and as LordSoth01 has pointed out that is already someone else's mod and I really don't like using other peoples mods like that even with their permission. Unfortunately Lyravega's mod won't work with JJs Bridge either due to the fact that I have re-pathed the entire bridge file and all of the bridge components including the terminal. Maybe ask Lyravega if they could make a compatible version for you. The pirate dreadnought uses a different terminal to the other freighters too so both terminals would need to be modded. JJ
I had been using Astro's Bridge, for years now, but that mod is currently broken, even if I recompile it from the lua. Astro's bridge has a few features this one doesn't (like a save point and system scanner on the bridge), but mainly I just like having a nicer view, and this mod fits the bill.
Thanks, I may still tweak the lighting a bit, how do you find it ? Do you think it's too red, too dull etc ? I had trouble getting good pictures for the mod page they just seemed to look terrible compared to how it looks in game.
I appreciate you looking for constructive criticism.
Well, I do like it a lot already (as I said) but one thing I found strange was the white terminals. (You can see them in the screenshot with the big cannon) The white looks out of place with all the black and red and sticks out like a sore thumb. The white on the central terminal is fine, it's the ones by the window that irk me a bit. I wish they were black although I'm not sure how feasible it is to recolor them.
Lighting: It seems a bit too warm? It's not as "harsh" or "contrasting" as it is outside the freighter itself. It's softer. Outside, the black and red are very clear, but on the bridge, the red almost seems to melt into the black. Still looks cool, but maybe it can be sharpened a bit. You can see the difference here especially (compare outside to inside). Try a darker black and deeper/more vivid red?
I've begun work on it but there is differences I need to account for and there's a few different way's I can do it but I'm just trying to decide which way to go about it. I want include the purple planets that rotate over the terminal for the pirate dreadnought but it means a fair bit more work and files used plus it has a minor conflict with one of my other mods but that's easy fixed with an update for that mod. I also think some people may not like the red toned theme for the dreadnought and just want the normal JJsBridge design so I may end up making two versions to please everybody. It's coming soon though.
No, this mod was designed before the pirate dreadnought was added to the game, however I have just had a quick look at the files and I can easily adapt it to them. I'm currently busy with another mod but I will update this soon to include the dreadnought and give it a suitable red toned theme for them as well.
Omg this looks amazing! Are the stairs leading up from the landing area to the bridge blocked by design? I know I can use teleports, but I would love the stairs to not lead into a closed wall.
Yes the stairs are blocked off deliberately so that the bridge can have the maximum amount of windows. This mod was originally made before the two side bridge doors and teleporters were added to the games freighters and I wanted to keep it as close to the original design as possible.
Your guess is as good as mine, I don't play the game any more and I've never heard of that. The mod does not make any changes to any game functions, it's still the same captain, other npc's and bridge terminal as if not using the mod. Any features the game has or if Hello Games add new features for any of these through updates will work through the mod as well. Maybe try search the NMS wiki for an answer.
