is there a common bug for the ships scanners to not recharge while youre on board? or is that a bug with the mod? i installed it using vortex so idk if there was an issue with that maybe.
I really wanted to make use of your mod but when I place this in my mods folder it does two things I don't care for.
Firstly using the E key to mark a waypoint takes about 30 seconds instead of vanillas approximate 3 seconds.
Secondly having marked the waypoint, it now shows as extremely large compared to other waypoints and appears very close in my field of vision obscuring a large amount of ground detail as you approach a target.
I do have a 38 other mods in play, but for now ive removed this mod and the problem goes away.
Did you use the one I just uploaded? This is a really simple mod, I changed 4 lines "UnknownBuildingRange" value="1200" (orig 600) "MaxIconRange" value="2400" (orig 1200) "MinShipScanBuildings" value="1" (orig 0) "MaxShipScanBuildings" value="3" (orig 2) None of those lines are capable of changing the icon sizes, but if you didn't use the updated version then yeah... weirdness expected.
Hi TheJughead Apollo, I used and tested your new version BetterShipScanner-855-1-77-0-2-1550372972 on Steam NMS in March and the compass icons are now normal sized, so I am endorsing your Mod. Thanks for updating your Mod to an underlying evolving game and keeping current. Like another Mod, and probably the Vanilla or basic game scanner, your scanner detects buidings forward in the ship screen but does not flag close buildings directly perpendicular or slightly behind the ship to the side. This directionality is probably a game feature for realism and to make play more interesting and keep the player alert and exploring, which I continue to do and document in my photo images that I continue to post on Nexus. Thanks again. Keep on cruising in your ship. everywomans
For me this mod seems to be breaking any of the mobile technology. When ever i click to spawn a signal booster the game crashes. soon as i remove this mod the game is fine.
Why hasn't this mod gotten some update love? I really would like to use it again. I miss being able to find nearby buildings while flying. Now I don't see them until I'm right on top or past.

GcBuildingGlobals.Global.MBIN Better Ship Scanner (made compass icons too small to use)
I tried this in 2019 for Visions, but the compass was too difficult for me to read due to shrunken icons on my HD monitor compared to Vanilla NMSky.
Instead, I used GCGAMEPLAYGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN CC'S IMPROVED SCANNER
which kept the icons at normal size.
