Hey could you make a version without the closer fog? It tends to look weird when standing on a tall mountain. Like the added fog doesn't reach the end of the view distance, so in the distance you see the fog cut off and behind that you see the vanilla fog or something.
Was just coming here to ask this. It'd be fantastic if there were a way to keep the nice looking skies for longer, especially sunsets which are like 30 seconds long, no joke, without the extended day mod. Cheers, this mod looks f-ing incredible.
Ah, the interesting bit here I suppose is that the Fix mod component of Chromatic Skies here actually came from my personal tweaks mod (which is, well, just for myself) and that the config originally had extended day/night that go from 30 minutes to 4 hours per day instead. I'll try uploading this as an extra option and with some few more adjustments coming by way of Chromatic Skies. (planning to fix up night colors a bit since I'm already modifying sky globals anyway)
Hey any update on the longer days fix? I just can't take going from night, waiting it till dawn and then a stupid storm rolls in and by the time it clears it's already almost night again. lol. Can't believe they chose such a condensed day-night cycle for this game.
Well here's an idea... Since it's possible to change the way water looks it may be possible to make it colorless, like in real life and reflect the atmosphere color at the very least. Good luck!
I'm not the shaders guy, but I'm glad to say somebody's already working on it. Lo2k is the shaders man and he recently revealed he was successful in re-introducing colored water into the game but I believe there was still a bit of an issue with the water's tintage between being as seen from space and on the ground... it's a very, very good start though.
On the other hand, another modder (LawnReality) has managed to restore the old style night skies of having the solar system background provide ambient colors to the night ground environment!
At this point really, we might as well all have our desired colors back! It's also a bit odd - as of vanilla, we have only 4 accessible sky colors, 4 colors for lush biome (because the rest of the lush palette are repeats of the same color), 1 color (brown) for all other biomes, and 1 water color... limiting the colors definitely wasn't something I asked for with NEXT.
Due to what ever you did to lighting clouds loose all the little detail giving them structure they have.
* Using 20-20 cloud mod
Edit - oddly enough on other planets clouds are having their detail .. perhaps its some sun color that causes the clouds to bleach out like this?
2nd Edit - seems that under certain sun light clouds look odd - they either are flatt / blob like looking like in my screenshot, or they get a dark border under othere light conditions. That is porbabbly the reason why HG restricted day / sunset / rise colors to only a few so clouds alwys look good.
Hi, it looks like something is overwriting the daylight palette that comes with the mod or my daylight palette isn't installed - just in case, do you potentially have any other mods attempting to change the day sky colors? I also recommend deleting the SHADERCACHE as color changes seem to be preserved without refreshing it manually.
I used to have extrapolatedsunsets installed but removed it when switching to your mod as you provid sunsets yourself. Only cloud mod used is RayRods 20-20 cloud mod. And yes I deleted the shader cashe. To me it seemed as if clouds can get an odd look at certain light conditions that make them look 2D or get Borderland akine cell shading edges (caused by a semi transparent border that is to make clouds appear fuzzy afait) and that this might be a reason why HG limited sky color variation as this dark border only shows under extreme colors like pink clouds against green sky.
So far the flat look only appared on one planet and the cell shading edges only show on extreme sky colors.
I'll delete the shader cash once more and keep you posted on this ...
I have a similar issue where clouds are super bright and look 2d/flat or just white without much shadowing around them.
I have tried without mods and just this alone and I have that issue. Is there a way to fix this at all? I like what this mod does, especially the fix file. Another issue I face is sometimes the clouds don't really match the atmosphere colour. An example will be blue/teal clouds yet the sky is orange or red. Any way to ensure that clouds at least take on some form of resemblance to the hue of the atmosphere?

When the sun is high up in the sky they turn to white blobs

Thanks a lot for all your efforts on this!
