I am late for the party but I must say I like what I see in the screenshots. This mod has no exaggerated color palette and that makes the worlds look more natural. I just wish you would update this for 1.75.

Im a bit torn, in some ways i love this, but in other ways i miss the more vibrant colors. Its a bit too much probabillity for muted colors for my taste.
Im currently using the Subtle Color Pallette mod. Would you mind uploading your color matrix for easy mod comparisons for users to chose which one they like?
WIthout you know, hours and hours of ingame testing to see random variations xD

For the exploratory nature of NMS I chose to not include the complete color matrix, although I included comments in the XML file in the mod for those interested in the colors used in grass/plants/leaves/alt_grass. That said the mod attempts to fully avoid vibrant colors as other color palette mods include them. I recommend trying out Lucid Lush or Project-Atlas Procedural Planetary Colors mods. Those two are great mods.

Can't wait until you start working on the other planet types as well. Lush planets are so much better with this mod!

Thank you! Currently I am looking at the other types and have made adjustments to barren and scorched worlds. Going for salt deserts in barren planets and blackened fire planets and some other more alien looks.

Sounds interesting. It would also be cool if any colour was possible on any planet. Like orange toxic, purple winter, copper barren (mars!), red irradiated and so on. That would make exploration really interesting again. Maybe there would be some not so nice results but so what? Who sais every planet has to be aesthetically perfect? I just need reasons to explore again! Thanks for your work.

The blue grass on my awesome lush home world became a gross dark brown mess with blinding white patches. Every other world looks good, but the one I wanted. Oh well, just my luck...

Thanks for this! I only started playing after NEXT came out (50% off on Steam), and even though red is usually my favorite color, I was getting REALLY TIRED of almost every "Paradise" planet having red/red-orange grass. I did find a green one once, but the severe boiling rainstorms only gave me 30 or so seconds between them, and it got old fast...

If a planet I have a base on is a blue grass lush, will the grass change to pink or will the scheme be based on the original color?

The color will change. The unmodded game uses only 4 color options and I extended this to 16 and mirroring the sequence 3 more times to a total of 64. This was done to enable more variety in secondary grass type colors paired with primary grass type colors so each primary grass has 4 possible secondary grass combos. In short, to some degree it may have been possible to preserve the original look of some planets but most would have changed anyways. I hope the result is to your liking and one thing that I personally enjoy about the mod is the renewed incentive to explore more lush planets.
