Thanks for making this! Original high pitched voice is quite annoying. But is it possible to make a version what's completely silent? I don't really have to hear about falling protection and received units in 10000000000th time :D
I meant mostly messages what repeat over and over like "Units received" after scanning something, "Technology recharged!" after every single multitool refill and all those "Thermal (etc) protection is falling!" type messages. Those are the worst and what I really don't feel like hearing after scanning my 5000th plant or visiting my 100th hazardous planet :o
Witcher1968: The problem is the files are all labelled like 3837485927, and because I don't speak Spanish, I have no idea which ones are the annoying ones, haha. I can guess by listening but it's hard for me to pick them out.
Something wrong with the new upload? I downloaded the new one to get that missing line fixed and now the voice is just gone, it's just using vanilla now.
Nice to see someone finally make a mod for the suit's voice. Only ones I ever saw of this were made long ago before Atlas Rises so they were too outdated to use. Though this one isn't to my liking to use myself it's good to see the first one made, hopefully this will inspire others to make some cool ones I'd be interested in using.
Not sure honestly. I actually do recall one of the oldest ones made on Nexus I was actually interested in but it was long outdated when I found it. These versions just sound too warbled for me, and I know vanilla also has it just something about the change in the voice's pitch makes it more noticeable. I don't hate the vanilla voice, but I would like a better one. Though I will say your Low v2 does sound a lot more appealing than the first rendition, perhaps some more tweaking you could come up with some really nice versions.
Ended up searching for the old voice mods and Asimov is the one old one I was thinking of, and Hostile ExoSuit Overhaul also sounds pretty cool, as if it was the AI voice for Doom guy's suit. Someone commented Asimov works with NEXT so perhaps I'll try it.
Thanks, I might make a few more voices so I'll keep it in mind. Personally I'm not feeling the demonic voices or doom style as they don't feel like they fit the game mood. I'll keep experimenting, maybe I'll come up with something.
No problem, turns out both those old ones still worked so I tried them both out. Hostile was harder to make out the lines in game and I was over it pretty quickly lol Didn't mean to say it was a good fit for the game, just that the design of it was cool. As for the Asimov one it sounded better in the video demo than in game so I couldn't keep using that one. I'm gonna give your Low v2 a try and see how I feel about it after some time with it on.
Cool, let me know how it goes. I like the Asimov voice - it's like soundwave or other vocoder type voices - I've only shifted the pitch on these - but I'm working on more robotic voices, maybe ethereal or alien sounding.
So actually liking it so far, says "Units Received" in a great way, probably the big thing I hate about vanilla voice. Also found it's missing a voice line, the one "Nearby toxins detected" that comes up when running into toxic spores. It uses the vanilla voice instead.
I just noticed that today, but I think what happened is if it tries to play the nearby toxins detected voice twice quickly, the first one was mine, the second one was vanilla (at least when it happened to me). I'll take a look.
I immediately got vibes of the voice of Subnautica's "Cyclops" class submarine (I laughed out loud when I first heard it because of how badass it is). If they ever do a freighter damage arc/revamp (think breaches and airlocks, flashing red lights, alarms, fires), this would be the perfect thing for it. I love it, however I think the deeper voice would feel more appropriate in a larger medium

Older mods don't seem to work.
