yes, I would like to see an update and if it turns out even more optimization, I have an fx-6100 gtx1050 and fps about 20, so I would like to see an update, yes I know I need to update my specifications but I don't have the opportunity yet(
This mod works in Origins 3.XX+ (link below), but at "half throttle", because like this one, it is not fully updated. Remove the shadows, yes, mission complete, but in return it produces a strange effect from space; some planets look like dark orbs (not all of them; it's also true that I'm using a mod to make dark nights and black space, which can indirectly contribute), and within them, they can have dark days (it's visible and playable, and it does not occur in all, but there is a certain lack of light).I suppose that the only thing that would have to be done is to correct the general ambient luminosity or/and that which the planets emit into space (leave the value high), but I don't know about how to do.
"No shadows" by brandoncamp16. > https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1587?tab=files It works for me as a solution, because I do not have or plan to buy a new computer to make each new game that goes on sale or is updated work (updating the graphics drivers has cost me many problems that I did not have, programmed abssolescence...)
It is a late answer, but it is good to let the staff know that there is still hope; not everyone has money to spend every time they update or sell a new game or program (I don't mean the game or program itself, but everything else).
If anyone reads this message and knows about Mod, please, they could help these poor people by updating this or another, or else making one from scratch that really works 100%. Shadows are one of the things (can be the most; and the game dont leave you turn off completely in their options -repeat with me, programmed abssolescence-) that load the most in performance (along with other visual filters, such as occlusive vision and some glow effects...) in not so current computers.
Offtopic: As always, they forget the importance of optimizing it on computers (I don't care about video game consoles, now they are more closed computers, before they still had the advantage of not having to install, connect to the Internet, you could play multiplayer games on same screen at home ... You are going to play whatever they let you play and how they want you to play, and of course, you'll have to buy a new one whenever they want)... But hey, we know that there is business there, because they save money on software development and, incidentally, force them to buy brand-new graphics cards with their corresponding cpu to make them. function. And to think that old games with maximum graphics look much better and are playable, unlike those set on low ... they are still unplayable (FPS) and are visually horrible compared to the previous ones; ex. Spore (with all expansions, in Galactic Stage) with max graphics vs. Man No Sky min, graphics (two vanilla games).
Thank you for taking time to share what you know about NMS performance boost and the No Shadow mods you link seems to be working nicely on next generation update.
Yes, that Mod works, but as I said, it has some problems (it looks somewhat dark even in daylight and some planets, from space, look like black spheres), after all it was made for an older version of the game and not it was updated. I've been trying all the ones that were available for Nexus ... finally this one worked, even at 65%.
But what do you want me to tell you, even so, the game is playable in our UNIVAC 1 (it's a joke, not so old computers, but ...) Hopefully some master of the Mods will help us with some modules specially designed to do so playable, or at the very least, tunably optimize it.
Redo here. I tried the no shadows only and saw no difference, but ChaoSXD said he had success with the 75 Internal Resolution and No Shadows. I tried that and oh my god, it doubled my framerate, and yes, it does work on 1.57. I'm playing on an old ass ASUS gaming laptop, and I mean it's OLD. I've tried a ton of mods to get this POS playable, and this is the only one that's had a significant impact. The game IS darker, and I get a weird landscape wide blanket of shadow that follows me around, but that's not a deal breaker since I can actually play the game. Please keep up the good work man, and update this sucker when they put out new patches. Thank You!!!!!!
I am using the no shadows + 75% resolution mod and I can confirm that my game is loading way faster. maybe 2x faster I don't know. The game is indeed darker and some structures still have shadows both in the no shadows+75% res and in the no shadows only.
My specs: Dell 5548 a20
I7 5500u 2.4ghz 8gb AMD Radeon R7 M265 2GB ddr3
the game stutters all the time because the game is using all the ram but it is becaming more playable as the devs update the game. I can run the game at about 25/30 fps I think on res 1280x720 + All settings on low/off
latest version now is the 1.55
is the shadows in the main file shadows+ao tweaks disabled?

Thank you again for caring about poor players
