Hello, while using your mod, I frequently encounter a sudden drop in GPU usage. Within just one or two seconds, this causes the FPS to drop to around 20 FPS, whereas it normally stays at approximately 180 FPS when there are no issues. Here are some of my PC specs: GPU: AMD 7900 XT CPU: Intel i5-12600K I never experienced this issue before using your mod, and I currently only have the "DUD'S SKY" mod installed. I’d be happy to provide more information if it would help you address this problem. Thank you! By the way, your mod is really great—I appreciate the contribution you’ve made to the No Man’s Sky community.
I can't reproduce this myself. (12yo Intel/Nvidia) I have seen a couple of AMD users saying that they experience this with a large amount of mods. HG just recently changed the whole mod loading system and how the GPU is being used for different things. I will let you know if I find any more info.
I've noticed something similar but its also without your mods and other weather/planet effecting mods. Seems to be something on the planet and it seems like its something with the storms and weather effects. Even with "No Local Storms" it would still hit every now and then but a lot less.
I was doing the "Relics" quest with the Offline version since the time has expired and I missed it, so mostly those quest system and on both purple and yellow systems.
It's annoying but its still worth it to have your mod's effects still, IMHO. I'll keep an eye out for more possibilities but glad to see it's not just me...was starting to wonder if it was VRAM or something chugging, but it doesn't seem to matter whether set to minimum game settings or ultra, FYI for those that try, so may was well enjoy the graphics if you're thinking about turning it down bc of it. Still love every bit of the mods!
Since I can't reproduce, I have a techie friend that has AMD and has experienced the same thing with and without my mods. Just a hunch at this point, but I think it might be due to how NMS loads some stuff now and some changes to the way the GPU is used. Doing some trials to gather some info. If you want to post anything about what is happening when you notice it, would be helpful. Couple questions: When it happens, how long does it last? Does it happen at a regular time like every 30secs or every minute, or more random? Does it ever happen in space? Does alt-tabbing out of NMS waiting 5 seconds and tabbing back in solve it? (at least temporarily)
Adding another tidbit of info on it: Noticed it happened a lot on planets with gravitational storms. Would happen once every 1 to 2 minutes on these planets (one was gas planet with heavy storms for sure, didn't pay attention to first planet where I noticed heavy lag spurts). When using No More Localized Storms, it only happened once every 5-10 minutes. Also have AMD on this computer too. EDIT 1:

Starting to believe the same. Went down to a planet, no extreme storms, but still have heavy extreme foliage and objects. No problems with the basics. Even nonstop harvesting with all that debris kicking about... no issues. Great looking planet like Mirkwood forest in the fall with spider web structures over the base of the trees... very dense as well. No issues with that or issues with fps.

Noticed issues with the lag when these events happened: Heavy winds/dust storms (not the extreme kind) - Decent amount of lag for a moment. Will lag again after a minute just a moment. Pirate attacks on nearby structures - Heavy lag on initial spawn of the ships then goes away. Didn't notice any hiccups of lag afterwards. Sentinel swarm/alert spawns - Hiccups of lag throughout the waves, especially on spawns. Summon Freighter - After I noticed the pirates causing lag, I tried to summon my freighter in the atmosphere afterwards... major lag hiccup and continued strong hiccups of lag every 30sec to 1-min intervals. Starship Flybys - Noticed when a grouping of starships loaded in to fly over, there was some lag as well, then it would go away. Feels like old MMOs where you'd get that lag spike when player groups or PKs would get close, lol. Frigate flybys and other weather storms - Haven't gotten a chance to see these yet other than gravity storms causing similar issues. Will keep an eye on these for the ones that spawn stuff and see if its an issue of spawning objects. Don't see an issue with LOD and load in of terrain at all even with the heavy density on some planets. Alt-Tabbing - Doesn't really clear anything up for me and there is a heavy lag from re-loading/re-focusing of assets for the CPU/GPU and then everything is fine until one of the above mention events happen.
EDIT 3:Confirmed extreme lag when Pirates attacked another nearby structure, before that clear gaming all over the planet. Will keep an eye on the spawn stuff some more.
Pretty sure its anything with ships loading in atm. Doing clean new games and will add mods affecting ships with each one to see if its one in particular. Thinking that all the other stuff I've noticed may have been at times the flybys flew/spawned in, since they are fairly frequent on non-dead/abandoned systems, and was just associating those other events that happened to be going at the same time. Will test these tonight.
I am very pleased to see this, thank you so much for all your work.
Quick question: does Terra Firma affect planets in purple systems as well? I ask because in vanilla they have a different (and more interesting) terrain algorithm from those in normal systems.
Yes. Terra Firma 3 overhauls terrain (voxelgen) on all terrain/planet types. The terrain in purple systems while using Terra Firma 3 will also be different than normal and prime terrain like in vanilla NMS.
Thanks so much for updating the list :DD But I'm just wondering if I can continue playing my current save, or should I start a new game? It seems that some of the mods affect things like planet generation, etc.
Your choice. The only mod that affects terrain gen is Terra Firma 3. You can use it on your current save if you want. I recommend reading the info on Terra Firma in the description. All of the mods can be installed and removed safely without affecting your save.
Downloaded and endorsed for the heroic effort, but - I was wondering which mods to download if all I had before were...

I'm assuming:
Terrafirma 3 + Barren Colors Dead Colors Frozen Colors GasBag Colors Lava Colors Lush Colors Main Colors Night Sky Colors Radioactive Colors Scorched Colors Skies Space Colors Sunset Sunrise Colors Swamp Colors Terra Colors Toxic Colors Underwater Colors Weird Colors
... Which is Terrafirma 3 and all the 'color' options + skies. But I don't know if that's the case, as some files from the prior install don't match - Like Dud_AtmosphereBurn. Though the rebalancing looks neat, I'm just here for the added colours and artistry!

WaterColors - Removed due to HG changes and improvements to water colors. (Might be revisited in future.) AtmosphereBurnFX - Removed because HG improved the effect and I considered it better than my version.

I know you are probably sick of gating questions like this but i was wondering if there is a way that i could use these mods with Lasagna 3.2? Thank you for the awesome mods and i hope you are doing well.
Some of them you can. Some will require merging work. Some wouldn't make sense to use. Not a simple answer. I recommend going to "No Man's Sky modding" Discord. There are people there (including me) that can help you. Here is an invite: https://discord.gg/BpweubWJ
I actually love the way you have the All-In-One pack now as well as individual modlet pages. It may have been for other reasons but now people can look up individual stuff they want for their game, discuss each individual topic, or post pics or ideas on each individual topic.
Very well done and thank you for your time setting it up. I know its a lot of work for you and others like lok2, gumskBF, and a slew of others. Your work is appreciated!
How would you title an image that is an example of 10 different mods? How is it hard to look through pics when you know the context of a mod? All information/descriptions of all mods are available on this page. I have limited time for developing mods. Adding more maintenance on almost 50 mod pages takes away from mod development. Respectful criticism and recommendations are always welcome. Complaints will always be ignored.
