I'm on the older channel atm. I'll test it and see if it goes anyway. This looks very interesting...

Worked for me! I was not sure what to expect at first. From the image you posted I thought an actual black hole was going appear on the horizon (Photoshop?) and then I could walk to it or fly through so I was super excited, however it worked more like Relic Gate (Activated through the emote menu) or Emergency Warp. As soon as you attempt to drop a marker, bang zoom...straight to the warp screen with your ship in view.

Let me know if I'm missing something...the reason being is I love that kind of stuff. For example, dancing on the accretion disk or parking on the event horizon in a fighter or right near the event horizon with a freighter, ect. Of course I'm a parking specialist so that goes without saying hahaha!!

Regardless, it does what it says on the box so a worthy mod! Endorsed! :-)))

I'm glad you like the mod it was a lot of fun for me.

The thumbnail isn't photoshop but initial testing footage of the mod. See to properly make the black hole function, you have to add a state trigger OnFoot. By default the value is set to InShip for space. So the testing footage was before this OnFoot change.

I also increased the trigger distance for the blackhole for warping. I noticed on my end performance issues. I'm currently on a ryzen three nine gb of ram. I get crash messages a lot lol. So I decided for usability to make it an instant warp.
If you'd like a different version of the mod I can compile it without the State trigger that way you can photograph away :)

Thanks for the feedback made my day.

9GB of ram? Ouch. Yeah...No Man's Sky, especially with mods, is memory thirsty. You definitely should release the full version. A full version and lite/instant version for lower powered machines. I'm dying to see that black hole on planet! ;-D

      Thank you!

Forgot to mention I will also probably attempt to merge it with WinderTP's Black Hole to try and get yet another crazy variation. Frankenstein mods are what I like to play with in my laboratory. Happy days are here again!

      Update:

So I fumbled around with the LUA and was able to get a black hole face up from the surface of the planet and right underneath my freighter. I free dived off the freighter and as I approached the event horizon...well...CTD!!! Three times in a row with different parameters. Damn! Think I'm coming across that memory hole you were mentioning.

I use an analysis and scanner skin mod, Star Wars hehe, and that shows up with the binocular GUI and planet info on the sides of the warp animation screen. Kind of a cool unintended effect. I noticed that the ship has it's landing gear out during the warp animation. I suppose I could just remove the ship entirely from the animation using:

      Full Screen Warps

Too be fair, I do like to see the ship during warp, mainly when I'm piloting it. I'm going to keep testing...see what else I can get...see if there's some hard limit preventing what we are trying to do, crank up my hardware settings, try to capture a nice image of something cool, and find an island of stability in the mod settings if possible. Really enjoying this mod testing mission hee hee, nice work!

I updated the photo info with my final analysis of the mod. I'll be posting some more photos in the future. In the meantime, feel free to add that photo to your mods page or link to it if you like. I swear I had more fun playing with this mod than the last expedition, hah! Thank you!

Just read the post yeah thats really cool didn't think about it being memory thirsty. so i'm guessing that setting the warp distance outside the horizon can help with performance thanks for testing that :)

I used it again here but with WinderTP's BAAA Black Hole on top...still tesing but so far, promising for laying down a massive black hole that's much easier on the resources. I believe it's the lensing effect of the vanilla overlay that sucks the memory. Maybe make your own black hole textures?

      For  example:
