What more can I say than that you've made a great tool. Thank you so much... A bubble gum for you!
And for the doubters it still works with the new game version!

Could you possibly commit the 1.3.0 source code on GitHub? Seems to be on 1.2 still

running into a problem that i'm hoping someone can help me with, been trying for hours to figure it out with no luck. i think i've more or less got the hang of unpaking the mod, then decompiling the mbin, and editing the exml files. but when i try to recompile and repak it won't keep the proper directory structure. it should be ...\METADATA\REALITY\TABLES NMS_REALITY_GCTECHNOLOGYTABLE, but when i recompile the new dir structure is missing METADATA. it ends up being ...\REALITY\TABLES NMS_REALITY_GCTECHNOLOGYTABLE. and the mod doesn't work. i've got the latest files installed.

When I first grabbed t his (around mid August) it worked great, but lately, starting about a week or two ago, I've encountered mbins that I can't decompile into a exml file. Sometimes if I swap in a different version of the mbin compiler it'll work for one, but not other mbins. Any ideas what might be going on?

i want to try modding for the first time for myself,

but i have a problem about the Directorys inside of the pak i created.

All of them dont point to the regular folders like /METADATA/REALITY etc.pp

but they point to the complete hard disk path, where the file/data is, which i used for the mod,

    like: \[Appz]\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\Mods\.T o o l s\CarnifeX MODs\GCBUILDINGGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN

How could i fix this, what am i doing wrong here?

EDIT: fixed it by myself, by putting all my mod-files needed for my mod, plain onto my harddisk (no subdirs etc.)
weird if you ask me, but ok atleast i can use the tool now finally

How can i unpack a single mods pak file to see what changes the mod author made? Do i just use the same unpack game files option?

Edit: nvm, just used the PSArcTool

It no longer decompiles MBIN into EXML. When I double-click a file it says "decompiled xxxxxx.MBIN" at the bottom but nothing happens.

Make sure you have the latest version of the program (1.3.0) AND the latest compatible MBINCompiler for your version. The latest MBINCompiler releases right now are going to be for the experimental version of the game not the normal version. I believe the version of the MBINCompiler will match up with the version of NMS.

Also check your task manager and see if MBINCompiler is stuck running in the background. If it is then end the task.

This error was from an earlier version. This is fixed in version 1.3.0.

Had an issue with this exact file, it turned out to be PSARC.exe couldn't handle my path-filename as it was just too dang long.
Changed my project folder to be closer to root level (shorter name) and this file now opens/paks just fine.

Recently Windows updated the .NET framework (KB4506991) and now NMS modding station doesn't want to recompile anything anymore. It just freezes for a few seconds and then no mbin is created. I don't know if this depends on .NET framework but it stopped compiling right after this update.

Check your task manager and make sure MBINCompiler isn't stuck running in the background this happened to me the other day and I was confused about why everything stopped working for a long time.

The new version shouldn't hang up if you get an error with the MBINCompiler anymore!
