I really wish this mod worked, it seems like such a simple thing that shouldn't have to be a mod. The problem is that in 4.65, this broke the space stations. I was unable to land in space stations. I could land in my freighter and abandoned space stations.
Please, either tell me this is a bug in the base game or that you will work on fixing it. Or something. For now I will not be using it.
Maybe you didn't notice but this mod was updated for 4.65 just before you posted your comment. The latest mod version 1.2 is good to go for game version 4.65.
Update coming, unfortunately I only own the game on GOG and there seems to be some longer than usual delay with them rolling out the latest game update { 4.64 } I can't do anything until I can update my own game and unpack the latest files. This mod will be my first priority once that happens.
Just FYI the NMS 464 update breaks this mod. Causes some whacky issues like FPS drop everywhere (80 down to 30 for me) and some weird save file interactions (despite exiting my ship on my base/planet, the save is later moved to the local station?? weird lol..
Anyway, I ran the 463 lua file through AMUMSS and it corrected the above. Probably because HG tinkered with station settings/properties on the latest update. But the lua fixed the pak.
Lift off is "bugged" atm. When the ship leaves the round platform is snapping instantly to low, then it pops up into the elevated position and is then lowered with the proper animation and smoke fx. Small thing but since you are into the details of things I thought I might let you know so you can fix it if you want to. Thanks for sharing your work.
Edit: Mod works correctly BUT when the ship has started from the pad to leave the station (everything works correctly) - the very moment the ship flies out of the station itself the last animation for the docking pad lowering itself is played again.
This is a bug with Hello Games animation and is not caused by the mod, take the mod out and watch some ships come and go and you will see exactly the same thing happens. It also used to happen with the older space stations landing pads and still happens with pirate station landing pads too ! Unfortunately animations are beyond my knowledge otherwise I would definitely fix it.
Thanks, and yeah I was scratching my head wondering why on earth these pads aren't rotating or how did they miss it ? It just looks so wrong for a ship to rotate by itself on a stationary grated surface ! Maybe they couldn't see the pads through all the smoke they've put in the space stations !
