This mod contains reduced textures sizes - from 33.1GB to 48.9MB, allowing for faster texture streaming and smoother gameplay.
Installation: Extract, drag the file to No Man's Sky folder > GAMEDATA > PCBANKS > MODS, be sure DISABLEMODS.TXT gets renamed or deleted.
Not compatible with anything that changes textures.
Tested on a laptop with a 940mx: Load times changed minimally, but once the game loaded the difference can be clearly felt: from really laggy into decent gameplay. Besides the increase in performance, textures loaded much, much more quickly. A must try for your toaster!
Tool used for this: Octagon, PSArcTool.
Be sure to set Texture Quality to Standard.
