Hey guys, I wanted to include an update on the state of this modpack as I haven't released any updates in awhile. I will not be releasing any more updates to the modpack unless I have an idea for something significant as I am pretty content with its current state.

Redeem omega ship causes CTD with basic install of this mod. It starts to render the ship, notice the cockpit hatch is missing then crash, no error message. Pathfinder 1.24. Works fine without the mod etc.

EDIT: I was able to track down the culprit. The UI pak file, I remove that, do the redeem, put it back in, no problems. So something in there is causing it to crash.

On another note, when using NMS Retro with your mod for Pathfinders, Zinc seems impossible to find on planets.
And that sucks for me, who wants to get off a planet.

Nevermind. I found some Zinc. It's just really hard to find, is all.

That it makes you put your Steam username and password, makes me seriously doubt the real purpose of this mod.

I can't speak for the creator of this mod or for qjimbo, but I assure you with my own past experiences using other tools he's made he isn't doing anything nefarious with his Installer. I always encourage caution with things like log in credentials but with my experience installing old versions of NMS through the method his installer simplifies like mad, the reason the log in credentials are needed is that Steam has to verify you actually own the game you want to install. Ultimately it's your own decision if you trust it or not, and that's okay. It's your system, your copy of the game, and your credentials. Just thought I would share what I knew. I hope the mod author or qjimbo don't mind that.

I had a similar question when I talked to Qjimbo but the installer only needs the steam username & password as it uses SteamDB (A database that holds the manifest IDs of many games) when writing the depot downloader commands to find out what the manifest IDs are to request. The installer downloads them from Steam officially. You don't even need to use the installer but you will still have to enter your username & password to access the manifest IDs for the older versions of nms on SteamDB and then use the Steam console by pressing Win+R and entering steam://open/console.

qjimbo open sourced it. I gave the code a look-over and it seems fine

Hello, sorry to bother, is there any way you could make just the E3 hud compatible with the newest no man's sky version? I've always loved the look of that hud

You've done a great job so far! I can't wait for Atlas Rises E3 Restored if you want to add stuff to that version.

Speaking of which, will you attempt making an E3 Restoration for Atlas Rises and/or the Modern game? Just a question on my end.

I have thought about it for Atlas Rises. I haven't decided if I'll pursue it because that's when HG changed the terrain textures and I haven't been able to port over the older ground textures, which were more accurate to the E3 build. Might port the E3 HUD though.

And for the modern game? Likely not as Rayrod has been working on the Multiverse Project for it for awhile and it'll be larger and more complex than anything that I could do, lol.

Interesting. Well, I hope the best in your endeavors.
Also, what is this Multiverse Project?

It's a project that RayRodTV has been working on for around 4 years. It's a new "dev" tool that'll allow RayRod to edit nearly everything in the game in real time, it'll also allow things that normal mbin modding can't do. Such as, dynamic textures on planets or an infinite number of color combos for space, planets, etc. It's a lot and I don't explain it super well. I recommend checking it out on his Youtube channel or Discord.

While I totally understand your debate over doing an overhaul for Atlas Rises, I would just mention when it comes to the Legacy versions it seems like Atlas Rises has the least mods left of all of them. I assume it's because the old modding site where they were hosted is gone so a lot of them went with it. If any of the Legacy versions could use some new mod releases, it would be the one. Just a thought though, of course. Thank you for this release!

You are right about that for sure. I find myself annoyed by that same reason like almost all old mods are gone now because either the websites have changed or mod authors have hidden/removed them. I still might do some things for Atlas Rises but it's quite different from Pathfinder so, it will take me a bit.

I have a small collection of Atlas Rises mods I've been able to hunt down across the internet, but I definitely wish it was more. Atlas Rises is my favorite version of NMS since it hits that sweet spot of classic nostalgia with more of the comforts the extra developmental time allows. I have RayRods Atlas Rises overhauls but I'd still practically rob a man to track down his Immersion 1.2 mod since it's supposed to be more stable than the initial release of Immersion. I'm just starting to learn the NMS modding process so maybe I should dive into those Atlas Rises files a little to see if I can do anything with them, lol. Anyway, thank you once again!

Quick question. If I already downloaded Pathfinder through Steam and replaced the current build in my steamapps folder with it will I need qjimbo's Legacy Installer? Thank you!

(Originally I asked if this was for 1.20 or 1.24 but I noticed qjimbo's installer installs 1.24 so if you saw that, disregard that part please!)

Edit: Please disregard it all, haha. Tried out the files for the version I downloaded a while back and it works perfectly. This mod is probably the closest to that E3 feeling of any other I have tried. Fantastic work!
