This mod still works with the current worlds part two updates. Just run the LUA through amumss, and if you like using a mod manager like Vortex to install mods, make the generated folder a 7.zip, and you are golden.
Really hoping you update this one, every time i go into the asteroids that NPC ship is waiting to attack, most of the time i don't even realise he's near me until he starts firing on me. Until i downloaded your mod, i'd stopped mining asteroids, which was one of my favourite Zen moments in the game.
Thanks, appreciate it. I'd managed to figure out the compiling thing, so had it working. Which was excellent, needed to learn how to do it, now i understand the 'it just needs to be compiled' thing.
I'm glad you figured it out. It's a very good thing to know how to do, if for no other reason than you don't have to every wait for a modder to update. Plus it's nice being able to use multiple mods which touch the same core game files, which you can't do unless you compile them yourself.
Yah, it probably didn't actually need an update. But when I do an update to one of my mods I just compile all of them so I figured I may as well upload it and mark it is cleared.
Love this mod. Definitely a must have in my opinion. I do love the feeling that there are others out there, mining too, a civilization bustling, etc, but it does seem like HG is trying to troll you with the npc miner. You deliberately move away and try to mine in peace and they just keep flying right beside and in front of you no matter where you go, lol. Thanks again Jagrid. I don't think this gets enough love!
LOL, that gif summarizes my feelings about the mining npc perfectly. Thanks for the chuckle.
I totally agree with you regarding liking the 'idea' of having other miners out in asteroid fields, but the way HG implemented it is just horrible. He's not out mining, he's out trolling the player. Massive space, massive asteroid fields...and they basically added ONE mining NPC, and then make him insist on mining right on top of the player.
I tried initially actually adjusting it so that it added MORE NPC miners, but at a further distance from the player. To give a 'busy asteroid mining field" feeling. Sadly, the way the AI seems to be programmed is that they fly to the player and get in the way, regardless of how far away you set it to spawn them initially. This mod was the end result of my initial failure to get it to do what I wanted.
OMFG, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you, a million times thank you, this should lessen my psychotic feelings toward the sadistic programmer that introduced this mosquito to the game.
Sadly, that doofus keeps appearing, even though I have no conflict with the lua being used. And the content is the same for my still active 4.05 version but oh well, what can you do.
I know you said you have no conflict, but it sounds to me like you do have another mod that is adjusting the same game file. It's the only reason I can think of that this mod would not supress the mining flyby's.

What other mods do you use?
Words cannot describe the annoyance THAT freaking NPC causes to my being.
Even if you are careful and stop shooting once he's close, or even if you move away to avoid it, IT FREAKING follows.
I'm glad that i stumbled to you today, for you made my asteroid mining as peaceful as it can be.
Big thank you. and HNY be blessd.
