Would you be willing to make a similar mod for turning in the racial items for rep, Korvax Casings, Vy'Keen Daggers and Effigies, and Gek Relics? It's about as annoying having to talk to them over and over again to keep turning them in, especially when you're buying more from the local pilots that keep coming in.
Understood, thank you. I always run AMUMSS' "_Check_CONFLICTS_in_MODS.bat" when I get new mods, then run the conflicting luas through AMUMSS. For this and Keep Gifting, I also had to merge Enjoyable Quicksilver and Short Shop Dialogs together with them.
Some of the design choices they've made just feel really bad and clunky. Especially when it comes to the dialogues! I hate waiting for dialogue and dialogue options to scroll or fade in as well as having to repeatedly reenter conversations to do the same thing over and over again. I don't even want to get started on the refiner and shop UIs lol
4.50a does not work with the Omega update. Not only does Cronus kick you out of the dialog, one of his dialog options gets replaced with a <<alien word>> dialog. Further, aliens on the space station have their "learn word" dialog option replaced with a similar <<alien word>> dialog.
I just checked in-game, all is exactly as it should be. Works perfectly. Keep Talking Chef cannot possibly do the things you're describing. One, or more, other mod .pak in your MODS folder, which make changes to METADATA\REALITY\TABLES\NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE.MBIN, are the source of the problem. From what you describe above, Keep Talking Chef isn't even being loaded\applied, due to the aforementioned mod conflict(s).
I used to love using this mod saved me so much time, haven't used it in a while now though due to the newest MBINCompiler mentioned in the below comments not being available yet. Hopefully it will be available soon, then it will be possible to get it working again in the newest update (Interceptor 4.21 - Tested: Not working)
MBINCompiler v4.20.0-pre1 is still valid for NMS 4.21, which is what the latest version in the Files was compiled with. So, should be good there.
Check the follwing: 1) Mod .pak into NMS install\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\MODS 2) PCBANKS\DISABLEMODS.TXT deleted or renamed (NMS updates will occasionally recreate the file) 3) Most likely culprit is a mod conflict, one or more other mods making changes to METADATA/REALITY/TABLES/NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE. Use AMUMSS to do a conflict check after the above has been done, you can combine the mods.
Ok thanx I usually just place files into the mods folder in pcbanks etc but looks like I'll have to start using AMUMSS then thanx again for your input on this.
Looks like it was a conflict with the "More Words" mod, now that ive merged the paks it works as intended. Thanks for the info I ended up solving several conflicts.
Yeah or at least you'd be very limited without it and I didn't realize just how limited I was by putting it off for this long haha. AMUMSS is such a handy tool that's for sure
With NMS, updates break mods. As with the vast majority of other NMS mods, not much can be done until an updated MBINCompiler (the tool used to decompile/recompile game files) is available. Until then we wait. Once that tool is updated, I can update the mod.
THX Babscoole. No rush, I just wanted to share the information with others I've seen posts below other mods where members report the issue (Luckily that way I didn't had to search for bad mods, just delete the mentioned mod temporary.
NP. As soon as I can, it'll get done. :) The reason why you see the above is that the mod currently contains 4.08 version of NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE, so is missing whatever changes are in the new 4.1 (Fractals) version.
are there more mods like this? like for the cartographer shopkeepers on space stations for example, so i don't have to start the conversation over every time i buy a random chart for nanites?
Nope, I have close to 100 mods I publish, so during update cycles I'm generally either prepping for the next update or tracking down bugs. I save working on new things for the downtime between cycles. :)
Just a matter of limited time available, with lots to do.
Here you go: nms-amumss-lua-mod-script-collection/KeepMapping.lua at main · MetaIdea/nms-amumss-lua-mod-script-collection (github.com) On the page, click the RAW button, now right-click on the page and choose save as. You'll want to save as .lua. Now run the lua through AMUMSS to create the mod .pak you can put into your MODs folder. Be aware, will conflict with any other mod that makes changes to METADATA/REALITY/TABLES/NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE.MBIN, including Keep Talking Chef, so would need to combine using LUAs and AMUMSS for multiple to work at the same time. Enjoy.
While I very much appreciate your asking, I will have to decline inclusion of my mod in a Modpack published on NexusMods. NexusMods now discourages usage of these due to various issues regarding permissions in the past. They now encourage an offical means of achieving the same thing, which debued earlier this year, called Collections. https://next.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/collections Collections are fully supported by NexusMods and the NMS modding community, so you are not required to obtain mod author permission in advanced for inclusion. As well, Collections are supported by the Vortex Mod Manager. I would be happy and humbled for you to include my mod in a Collection.
Hi, any chance to get a version for the others Space Anomaly iterations? Even when I have enough nanites to keep buying blueprints, the dialogs close and have to interact again with the vendor.
After messing around with the model & dialogue settings for the shops and new tech popup settings for a day, I learn I have no clue how to fix or change this problem. It might have to be fix by Hello Games themselves. I'm sorry to say but mission failed on my part. Maybe someone else with more modding knowledge than me can pull it off.
Did you install a mod that conflicts with it? Any mod that edits NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE will conflict.
Also make sure you delete/rename DISABLEMODS.txt file in No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS folder. that file is re added after each big update and it will disable all mods.
I tested in game and can confirm its still working for NMS 3.91 Leviathan.

Seems like with the new update (Fractal), some text are not showing, example: 9162-1629-6291-* replaced by LANG_03.

Thanks for the mod.
Ill look into for my next project. No promises that I can achieve the result though but ill try :)
There is nothing to apologize, thanks for giving it a try :)
