Hello, first I want to thank you for the mod, I only discovered it a few weeks ago. The Worlds update was a total disappointment for me, well everyone has his own tastes... All of the planets I had carefully been looking for during hundreds of hours are now just uglier or in the worst case completely different (not in the good way...). Besides that, I find the oceans really ugly, too much transparency showing underwater ground and flora, that are most of the time bland (once again, to my tastes).
I can't understand why someone would even think that "transparent waters" is a good idea... Knowing that the light decreases strongly with the depth... Well all that said, fortunately enough I am a PC player, and I am now playing offline with the last Adrift stable version with ArghWater mod installed, and I must say that I find it the most beautiful "water landscapes" experience that the game can give me. Ever... So, thank you again for the mod, I will be using it in my own universe (you can call me Artemis...).
I read some posts below, and I disagree with the idea that there's no point to update ArghWater, now with the Worlds update. I can easily understand that the code must be entirely different now, but if I had your skills, I would think about doing something about the oceans transparency and water surfaces reflexions... I know that a lot of people praised HG for the last update (though I would not), but I think those guys should talk to you about how to render nicely an ocean... ;-)
Here is an example of what I mean, and if there was a poll about what is the best bay view to build a base around, I have absolutely no doubt about the winner.
I'm not sure if this still has relevancy any more with the Worlds (v5.0) update. But, so you know, the current version causes graphical artifacts in many places.
1. Planets have a strange reflective quality. Noticeable as you fly through space. 2. Within the space station there is flickering on surfaces with reflectivity (not sure how this relates but it is happening). 3. Other anomalous shimmering / flickering with reflective surfaces.
I'm assuming that this mod won't work now with Worlds! Will there be an updated version, or has the update basically replaced the need for it now...? (Which would be good in some ways, but a shame in others - this has always been one of my favourite mods.)
I wish you'd change the name of this to "Argh Water"
I was looking for a water mod, and searched WATER, and this mod didn't show up, the ONLY reason I found this mod is because somebody mentioned it on discord.
