I noticed today there were 0 underwater spawns and possibly flying ones. I shut off all mods and turned them on 1 by 1. Your x2 fauna mod was the last one I turned on and no water or air spawns. I also thought it might be conflicting with underground spawn mod, I disabled every mod except your x2 fauna, and still no water or air Fauna. Air may just be they didn't spawn in my quick tests, but I stayed underwater for a long time in shallow and deep sea and 0 spawns.
If I use a versions to increase the fauna (eg: x2 or x10), it does spawn a lot of fauna, but almost exclusively one type. Before WPII, it spawned a lot of all types of fauna. Is this something that only happens to me?
Funny story, I wanted to know what the default spawn values were for all the different creature types (such as CaveGroupsPerKm). Rather than bug you or another modder I decided to learn how to decompile and read the game files myself. By the time I had CREATUREGENERATIONDATA.MXML open and removed all the irrelevant sections I realized I had essentially recreated the entire mod from scratch. All I would have to do is save my resulting file as an EXML and preserve the vanilla folder path.
I'm not a programmer at all and I don't have a lot of experience tinkering with No Man's Sky files. All this to say, the new modding system update is pretty badass if it's accessible enough even for someone like me.
Awesome!! One of my favorite mods. I love the savanna feel of all the animals roaming about, makes planets seem more real to me. Keep up the great work!!
Wonderful mod! I've wanted to remove all fauna for a long time. With the Worlds part 2 mod changes, I was able to do so using this mod as the foundation to produce the needed EXML file.
If anyone wants a more chill, unpopulated experience, here's the zero-fauna mod file. Extract it under your GAMEDATA\MODS folder.
Would it be possible to increase the density of just cave creatures? Gameplay-wise I'm fine with the vanilla spawn rates for creatures, but utility-wise it ranges from obnoxious to downright impossible to complete the fauna on some planets with a lot of fauna variety. The cave creatures are constantly nowhere to be seen. Sometimes even after checking over 30 caves.
I feel like increasing the spawn rate of cave creatures would help with this problem.
Not with this mod, as this won't increase spawn locations, just density within the spawns (going off memory, on my phone). Should be able to do it with a different method, though. I think I was going to do it a long time ago but someone else had something similar.
I sure love this mod, especialy the X5 creatures density, but there is one problem with that one, on planets with 19 different creatures, it tend to have no birds in the sky or fish in the sea except very very rare even they still common. So i think that one is still to much for any planet that has more then 10 different creatures, but for other planets with barely any creatures it very very nice. Maybe it better to tune it down to max X2 or x2.5 to be able to have more creatures still but not block on overpopulated planets to have some like common creatures barely not spawning or by chance.
This system i'm in has 3 planets with more then 18 creatures each and each i couldn't find the last 2 creatures untill i removed this mod, due to the overpopulation.
I second the request for a 50% reduction, to try to reach some realism in NMSky without making it too hard to find species. I like many of your mods, but increasing the density or zeroing density are not currently my preference for an exploration challenge playthru. If easy to do, please consider a 50% option. Thanks.
hello, I know that you are probably too busy with all the mods you are already maintaining ..but would there be any chance of you looking into increasing the number of species that frequent a planet?
It would help make the planets look a lot more realistic in terms of biodiversity.

Does this also increase spawn of predators?

Thanks :)
