I played with these mods enabled for a while. On paper it seems like a great idea, making exosuit slot upgrades more rare. But in reality, this was barely a bump in the road. Drop pods are plentiful, and drop pod locations are easy to buy. On top of that, all drop pods seem to require the same materials to repair, making the whole process very easy.
My solution would be to remove drop pods from the game and just have the exosuit slot upgrades on space-stations and the anomaly. That might be a good mod idea.
In fact, the game could do with a whole lot more rarity of items and resources. I already have a few of your mods installed to accomplish that. Do you have any more planned that make the galaxy a lot sparser and perhaps lonelier?
Cone on, the discord channels and others are not interested in spending time walk around planets, exploring. Tis what I thought the game was about. Hope people will try and like your mod!
Hi Lo2k, thanks a lot for all your hard work creating and keeping your mods updated, they really improve our games. I just want to ask out of curiosity, what could be happening the worst if I use this mod, I'm building a hard mode setup, and I installed it along with many other mods, check compatibilities, and so on, and to be honest, it didn't get me any problems: all chambers in all three stations types are gone, nothing looks out of place, no glitches and so on. I also checked the lua if there is anything (under my poor knowledge) that could potentially brake something else, but nothing came to my attention. What makes you think it can be broken if used it?. Again, thanks a lot for all your work for our enjoyment, buddy, You rock! BTW: I'm using the experimental branch of the game.
the worst case is if one of the 3 files are changed in one upcoming update. In that case, the game could crash at loading or when displaying one of the station interior and go back to desktop. I did it hundreds of times during my mods tests and I never encountered any savegame corruption so you will temporary have to remove the mod and will be able to play waiting for a mod update.
Thanks for all your mods. I cannot play the game without most of them, it makes such a better experience! Although i have a question regarding this one: Is it possible to add them as a random encounter in any of the space stations?
It took me a while to find the right file but I finaly found it. I added a variant to the mod to remove exosuit chambers from pirate space station. thanks for the heads up.
Thanks for this. Please continue to develop mods that increase the game difficulty even if they are not popular downloads as these are few and far between when compared to all the cheat mods that make a game that is already too easy, even easier!!!
I've just disabled my personal jetpack in VR as I think this may make the game a lot more interesting and give the terrain manipulator and the vehicles a lot more relevance... time will tell! I actually wish the jetpack used some sort of fuel that you couldn't carry with you so it could just be used in emergencies.
Omg, 3 downloads)) Why people does not like difficulty mods in NMS? This game need more mods like that. But instead devs making it more and more casual oriented. Free tec drops everewhere(just scrup the trash from it), free freighter, chip as my life exosuit upgrades, infinity terran manipulator (still looking for mod to fix it back to normal), and hazard\life sup modules - didnt play for year, something is off then before, its more like nuisance now. Do i miss something? Its survival game right? // Sorry my English // Thank you Lo2k, my deepest admiration, dont know how you holding up in game for so long, but i'm envious.
