Hello. this does fix that weird lighting when I'm outside of my created building then going inside it suddenly bumps up the brightness inside the building?
I encountered a major issue after I installed this mod.
I installed it manually, following the specific instructions for this mod, though it was the same as other mods. I started the game, and it took 3 to 5 times longer to load into the save. And my framerate completely tanked, up to 50% loss. I removed the mod, reentered the save, and it still took a very long time to load in, and my framerate was better, but still worse than it was before, and there was a lot of stuttering. I then completely deleted the mod folder, and still, the same issue. I had to completely uninstall the game. I even deleted the folder that Steam left behind. I reinstalled the game and I also restarted my computer. And now the save loads in faster and my framerate went back to how it was before I installed this mod.
Obligatory disclaimer: I am not flat out accusing this mod being the sole issue. I am not accusing any incompetence with the mod maker. This is just my experience, with as much troubleshooting as I had the energy for.
I have practically zero coding experience. But my minimally educated guess is the issue may be with the changes the game devs recently made for the modding environment.
After some testing I also came to the same conclusion. In fact, apparently things like overlay (steam and nvidia) affect the game. When I turned these two off I had better results and fewer errors. In my case, I work in IT and I still program today. Something I've noticed in all these years of playing is that NMS has a very bad memory "cleaning" and always resolves some errors that occur when exiting and re-entering the game.
Some great tweaks have been made by the devs in the current experimental branch which will really stop mods from taking minutes to load to just crash the game at launch. It will surely improve the experience for everyone as soon as these changes will be pushed to public branch.
Hey Lo2K, thx for the update. I don't know if it's just me, but when I install this mod my game freezes after loading the logo and before the Warning message for using mods. Another observation, some of your mods like this one still have a lua file. I don't know if it's intentional or if you forgot to remove it.
What's your game version (as seen in the bottom left corner of the main menu) ? It should be 137322 else you're maybe in experimental which I can't support. Yep, some mods can't be stripped down to .exml files and for those, conflicts risks are still present, so .lua files are still needed for them.
Lo2k, sorry for the delay in responding. Game version: PC Public 137322(Save Version 4170) I ran several tests installing and uninstalling mods. When I booted the machine and started the game directly without running any other program, some mods that were causing this problem were also loaded. Therefore, my conclusion is that it must be more of a problem with the game loading mods than with the mod itself. My PC is not high-end but has a robust configuration, I just mention it so as not to give the impression that it may be a hardware problem. Thank you for your attention.
PS: Game loaded but mod isn't working, night still vanilla. Same happens to black carbon.
I'm surprised you and I posted here at the same time. I had the same problem. I discussed it in my post. I suppose there is something tricky going on in loading mods as you said.
Think you could add an even darker natural nights to the mod? So people can choose Natural Nights or Darker Natural Nights? I still kinda feel like there's a bit too much light in the game at night. Unfortunately the base lights don't help much at all with lighting, I guess if we had an even darker nights, I'd have to find a mod to make lights better too.
Hello, can I release a modified version of your mod? It change the night filter to dusk. I believe there are many players who don't like playing games in the dark like me.
I was trying hard to find that one mod that as a bonus feature gave all ships a landing light so you can see anything when hovering over ground. But where the hegg is it? Can anybody please give me a hint which mod to look for? The search words "light" and "land" did not give me anything.
(why some people manage it to give their products names that make it difficult to search for the mods by using intuitive search words?)
https://github.com/MetaIdea/nms-amumss-lua-mod-script-collection/blob/main/Babscoole/JasonDudes%20Mods/_MOD_DUD_ShipHeadlightsPlus_v472-A.lua You have to download the *.lua file and compile it with AMUMSS I use it and is fantastic
I think you should stop making changes to the file "GCWATERGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN". In the "Worlds" version they are not only useless, but also harmful. Without the file "GCWATERGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN" water foam at night has the same brightness as water and is barely visible. With the full version of your mod, the foam is not visible at all, as if it does not exist.
Indeed, they finaly fixed the fluorescent foam at night, so the mod doesn't need to edit GCWATERGLOBALS anymore. I released 2.7 version which doen't use it anymore. thanks for the heads up.

Else, for lights, there's Relight
Forgive my bad English, it's not my native language

Meanwhile I managed to find exactly that.
